Katy Perry recently had an interview with People magazine where she spoke a little bit about planning her wedding to fiancé Russell Brand. The 25-year old pop singer said “Most people have breakdowns just over weddings. I’m planning mine AND my tour.” It’s a good thing that she hasn’t broken down yet. Katy is crazy enough as it is, can you imagine how crazy she can get if she does have a breakdown? And it must not be that hard to plan her wedding when she has pals like Rihanna to count on. As previously reported, the Barbadian R&B singer is planning Katy’s bachelorette party.
The band Ace of Base recently released “All For You,” the first video in the new formula of the band, Jonas Berggren, Ulf Ekberg, Clara Hagman, and Julia Williamson. Jonas and Band Wolf brought in two female voices that fit the band’s style so that they can conquer the music charts once again. In December last year, Jenny Berggren decided to leave the band to concentrate on a solo career. Clara is one of the semifinalists of Swedish Pop Idol contest, contest where Ekberg attended as a member of the jury. “All For You” is the first single promoting the album “The Golden Ratio”, which will be released later this year.

Lilith Fair may not have done so well in the US but organizers are still continuing their tour in Australia this October as a Taste of Lilith with shows in Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane. Sarah McLachlan, Court Yard Hounds and Kate Miller-Heidke and the Verses will be doing the concerts. However, the ticket prices are still soaring at $149 and $222 in Australia. That’s pretty steep especially considering that’s why many people didn’t show up to the shows in the US. However, you do have to consider that a portion of the ticket sales go to charity, so have a heart and watch the show.
Sheryl Crow opened her own center for prevention and diagnosis of breast cancer, after she struggled for years with this disease. Sheryl Crow Imaging Center is located in Los Angeles and is provided with latest equipment to treat cancer. “I am ready to inform and encourage millions of U.S. women, aged over 40 years, to make their annual mammogram. Timely detection of breast cancer is a huge chance for survival for a woman,” said Sheryl Crow. Four years ago, she was diagnosed with breast cancer after an annual check up. She underwent several operations and radiation therapy to heal, taking the decision to help other women who are affected by this disease.
I have some good news and bad news regarding the MTV VMAs. The bad news is that Britney Spears wouldn’t be around this year. The pop singer’s manager Adam Leber said on Twitter that “Good news – When she’s not at the VMAs, she’ll be in the studio, working on her brand new album!” That’s definitely much better than just seeing Britney present a performer or an award on the awards show. The promise of new music is definitely more exciting to me. I appreciate the fact that she didn’t want to disturb her schedule just to be cute on camera.
