Here is Britney’s mom Lynne Spears’s new book cover shown today, but the book itself is due out Sept. 16th. It was originally supposed to be publicized earlier but was put on hold after Britney’s younger sister Jamie Lynn got pregnant. Originally the gossip was that it was going to be a parenting book, but apparently that was not the case.
Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World is a memoir, describing Spears’s “story of what it was like being a mom and raising two very famous people,” a spokesman for publisher Thomas Nelson said in a statement to PEOPLE a couple of months ago.
Said the publisher at the time: “Lynne never stopped working on it because she wants to express her love for her children and tell their stories through a mother’s eyes.”
It should be an interesting read. I’m not surprised she didn’t shelve the project once it became public knowledge that her teenage daughter was pregnant and Britney was hospitalized since she no doubt spent the advance she received. Some things are just better left unsaid, so hopefully she tries to keep some of the private family matters private.
Isaac Hayes one of the great legends of soul died today in a Memphis hospital at the age of 65.
The man was famous for rocking a bald head, buff bod, shades, and smooth baritone-voice. His music style came to be known as urban-contemporary making his mark and a name for himself during the disco era. He wrote the “Theme From Shaft” song which won both Academy and Grammy awards.
The cause of death was not immediately known, nor was foul play suspected.
He was built like a tank, and his shiny bald head was quite the fashion statement when most of his contemporaries (like Barry White) wore Afros.
He got a new group of fans in 1997 when he became the voice of Chef, the school cook and devoted ladies man on the animated TV show “South Park.”

Kim Kardashian will do a guest performance with the Pussycat Dolls in Las Vegas on August 15th. She will be showcasing her gorgeous ASSet as well as her skillz on a pole. She’s not the first celebrity to make a guest appearance, Scarlett Johansson, Paris Hilton and Christina Aguilera have all done so as well.
Clay Aiken is the proud daddy of a baby son born today at 8:08 a.m in his home state of North Carolina. The baby’s mama is his good friend Jaymes Foster, a music producer and sister of David Foster. Their baby was conceived via in-vitro fertilization and they plan on raising the child together.
He writes on his blog:
“HE’S HERE! “My dear friend, Jaymes, and I are so excited to announce the birth of Parker Foster Aiken (No hyphens. One first name. One middle name. One last name.)
“Parker was born at a hospital in North Carolina just this morning at 8:08 AM. Wow… 8:08 … 08/08/08.”
Joss Stone has upset her family when she showed up 30-minutes late to the baptism of her half-brother’s baby son. What makes things so much worse is that she was supposed to be the godmother.
She insulted the clan even more when she refused to read the church order of service and called them “old biddies” when they criticized her for it.
Her half-brother, Daniel, started getting on her case and that is when things got really nasty. A witness to this fiasco said:
“She was absolutely furious and they had a full-blown argument. They were screaming at each other and the next thing, Joss headbutted him. Other family members ran over to break it up and she stormed off. It turned from a nice family affair into a brawl between Joss and her brother. No one could believe it.”
Headbutted him?! Can you imagine? In church? Sounds like a scene from a movie!
Victoria Beckham supposedly wants to have another baby, but her doctors have advised her that she cannot have another C-section (it would be her 4th) or she will cause damage to her body.
The Herald Sun reports:
The former Spice Girl – who has three sons, 9-year-old Brooklyn, 5-year-old Romeo, and 3-year-old Cruz with husband David Beckham – is determined to have a little girl, but has been told she could damage her body if she has a fourth caesarean. “She wanted to try for a baby after the Spice Girls finished touring,” a source said. “But she’s put her plans on hold while she sees what can be done to help her. She knows she is putting her health at risk if she dismisses the advice of her doctors and has another C-section.” Doctors are concerned the 34-year-old could need an emergency hysterectomy if the op goes wrong.”
I remember reading that she had to have an emergency C-section with her first son, and it is dangerous to deliver vaginally after having one C-section … and that’s if you had one, if you had 3 previous c-sections, I think it would be out of the question!

MTV let the fans decide who the nominees were for the VMA’s! Gwen Stefani’s video for “Now That You’ve Got It” and “Early Winter” were in the running for the categories of Best Male and Female Videos. Time will tell as to whether or not she wins.
I’m looking at this picture of her and reminding myself that she is only 14 years old. The push-up bra, french manicure, full face makeup, high heels… girl is trying too hard to look all grown up. I don’t have to imagine what she’ll look like when she’s 30 since she looks soooooooo much older than she really is.
Anyhoo, apparently The Lohans were kicked out from the New York City premiere of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. Celebrity snitches told gossip columnist Marc Malkin that Dina and Ali Lohan, were ejected from the red carpet movie afterparty when mama Lohan did the freak on a event staffer who “politely” asked them to change tables.
“Dina “went apeshit…It so wasn’t cool.” So not cool that “Dina was quietly removed” from the rooftop soiree… Dina was so awful.”
Mama Lohan sent an email explaining to Marc that she decided to take Ali and friend home early after a studio staffer began raising his voice.
“He made the girls uncomfortable,” Dina says. “At that point, the girls wanted to leave.”
John appeared at LA City Hall last Thursday to make a public plea for the Los Angeles City Council to begin regulating the paparazzi. Officials there were in talks about imposing restrictions on them. John had this to say:
“I don’t sit before you today to ask that you ban the paparazzi,” Mayer, 30, said in his testimony. “I’m asking you to regulate it. Officialize it. Tax it. Legitimize it.”

– Enforcing “an acceptable distance” between the photographers and their subject:
“A law governing an acceptable filming distance from an unwilling subject keeps everybody safe and misbehavior becomes accountable,” Mayer testified. “Without know who is following you, you do not know why you are being followed, which
brings about a very really possibility of suffering harm.”
He also suggested :
a “big white P on a yellow license plate [that] says the driver works for an accredited photo agency,” as well as “press credentials worn in plain sight.”
Vanessa Hudgens was doing a CosmoGirl interview recently and had this to say when Chelsea Staub’s name came up during the conversation:
“Isn’t she dating Joe [Jonas]?”
Interestingly enough, the CosmoGirl reporter observed and noted this slip of the tongue by writing in the article that Vanessa:
“catch[es] herself, as if realizing she’d broken some celeb code of secrecy.”
‘ “I mean, she’s been seen with him,” Hudgens then grins to the reporter.’
I remember reading in an article the Jonas’s brothers did that they really enjoy reading newsy tidbits and gossip on themselves. They actually get quite a laugh out of most of what they read. They all seem like decent guys anyways… there really hasn’t been anything negative about any of them whatsoever.
