Two of the Jonas Brothers, Kevin and Joe, recently registered to vote.

Ellen the talk show host thinks the upcoming American election to be so important that she’s committed to a partnership with Declare Yourself during the month of September, where they’ll be registering people at her show’s tapings.

On the day they taped the fall premiere of her show, Kevin, who is 20, and Joe, who is 18, were two of the first voter registrants. Ellen will make the official announcement on her show tomorrow, so tune in.

Pete Wentz revealed in an interview he did with Playboy magazine that he and Ashlee are fairly certain they are having a baby boy (not twins as has been the rumour) this fall:

“We know with 90 percent accuracy that it’s a boy and our due date is around Thanksgiving. We don’t have any names yet. My friend Andrew said, ‘Your kid has to have a name that would fit either a rock star or a senator.’”

He also told of his struggle with depression:

“As a kid I always went to therapists; the first time was when my parents were separated on my sixth birthday, then on and off since then. I was diagnosed with ADD.”

Pete also discussed his overdose with his anxiety medication back in February 2005:

“It had more to do with being depressed. I wasn’t thinking of killing myself. I’ve never really called it a suicide attempt. I just wanted my head to be completely turned off. I took a handful of Ativan.”

Pete even talked about his famous sister-in-law, Jessica Simpson and her boyfriend, professional football player Tony Romo:

“I like Tony a lot. He’s a rad dude, and we’re both into Guns n’ Roses. Magazines always like to use pictures of us together: ‘Tony wears Nikes, but Pete’s checking out Balenciaga bags.”

He seems to be very happy, in love, and eagerly waiting the arrival of their new baby. Hopefully the stress of becoming a new father won’t be too much for him and their new marriage. I always wonder why newlyweds get pregnant so soon. Marriage is such a big step why not take some time to really get to know each other and see what it’s like living together before adding a new baby? Oh well… guess they’ll be finding out soon enough… hopefully they are both banking up on their sleep before the baby arrives!

Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Award host Russell Brand Brand stirred up controversy by continually poking at the Jonas Brothers’ virginity pledges while using them as an excuse to make teen pregnancy jokes about Bristol Palin and her fiancee.

Brand’s running theme for the evening focused on the Jonas Brothers and their promise rings — until Jordan Sparks stepped on stage to have her say about his repeated digs:

She later had this to say about putting Brand in his place at the In Touch Magazine after party:

“Somebody had to do it.”

RB was funny to some, offensive to others, the question is did he commit career suicide, or did his controversial performance since no one can stop talking about him, serve as a case test for the theory that there’s no such thing as bad publicity! Two days ago he was virtually unknown in America!

For the September issue of Vibe magazine, interviewer Elliot Wilson asked 15 questions of Jay-Z. Towards the end of the interview and after hearing Jay-Z refer to Beyoncé as a “friend” the last question was:

“You said your ‘friend,’ but this is your wife. Are you still not willing to confirm?”

“That’s ridiculous for me to confirm,” replies Jay-Z. “I don’t have … I’m gonna say, I think that was a ridiculous question. I just think it’s really a part of your life that you gotta keep to yourself.”

He did share his reason for trying to guard his privacy and why there has been no public confirmation of their union. He said:

“You have to, or you’ll go insane in this type of business. You have to have something that’s sacred to you and the people around you.

“I shared so much of my life, my childhood, and my family, the death of my nephew with the world. I should have something to hold on to. You need something for your sanity … to say, Okay, I could chill out, and this is it.

He did admit to being in an exclusive relationship saying it’s :

“part of maturing, right? You have the right people around you, and if that person around you is your friend, then you just wanna carry it like that. You get to a point when you could let people into your circle, and that’s it.”

The JACKSON 5 reunited on stage in California this past Thursday (04Sep08) to accept a BMI icon award but noticeably absent were Michael and Jermaine. Brothers Jermaine, Tito, Marlon, Randy, Jackie and Michael – were honoured with the lifetime achievement award at the BMI Urban Awards.

Tito, Marlon, Randy and Jackie accepted the prize, which was presented to them by sister Janet Jackson. Marlon joked about Michael’s bizarre superstar lifestyle saying:

“I don’t know (where he is). I think he’s in Egypt riding a camel or something.”

A tribute performance by R&B singers Mario, Keri Hilson, JoJo and Lloyd, who gathered on stage to sing a cover of I’ll Be There.

The evening was held at the Wilshire Theater Beverly Hills had a grand finale with a performance of Never Can Say Goodbye sung by Mario, Bobby Valentino, Lloyd and Ray J.

Tito said: “It’s a great honour to know your music influenced a generation. We’re very proud of this moment.” It was a family affair when the Jackson 5 members – who did not perform all got up on stage to pose with parents Joseph and Katherine, and sisters Janet, LaToya and Rebbie after receiving the Icon prize.

Ne-Yo, won Song of the Year for Irreplaceable, a track performed by Beyonce Knowles and written by the Closer hitmaker also won, as well as Espen Lind and Amund Bjorklund.
Kanye West, T-Pain and Jonathan ‘J.R.’ Rotem were named Producers of the Year, while T-Pain scored the Songwriter of the Year title for writing hits including West’s Good Life and Flo Rida’s Low.
The BMI awards pay tribute to the music industry’s top songwriters, composers and producers.
Rodney Jerkins, will.i.am, Polow Da Don, and Soulja Boy were also noted on BMI’s list of 2008′s Top Urban Producers.

Usher’s obviously been working out in preparation for his upcoming “intimate” 15 cities sweep, Ladies-Only One Night Stand Tour and it’s very obvious that his mama is doing the flex now that she’s back in charge of her son’s career. What a great way to send a little message of whose the boss now to her daughter-in-law Tameka Foster?! Take her boy out on the road for a couple of weeks and have the audience be women only! *meows*

Usher told the Associated Press:

“There’s only a few artists that can pull that off,” he said. “I feel like I’ve had such a connection with my audience. This album, I felt like, was definitely the type of one that was more intimate. So what better way to get up close and personal than to make it all women?”

He added:
“The ladies like to see that masculine build, they question if I still got it.”

I think his mama’s still got it!

Ciara poses nude on the cover of Vibe Magazine’s October issue. I feel that the naked provocative shots are a bit much but know that this is an easy way to get people talking since outside of her relationship with 50 Cent she’s been under the radar lately. Visual music isn’t something I agree with. Posing for pictures and being fashionable is part and parcel of being an artist but talent is what it’s about.

Her 3rd solo CD ‘Fantasy Ride’ will release ‘Go Girl’ in late September as its first official single with vocals and production from T-Pain. A few websites have already leaked one other track named: ‘High Price’ featuring Ludacris.

Miley had a very profitable year last, she earned $18.2 million and has decided to spend a nice chunk of it on herself by ordering up a “fully loaded” white convertible Benz for her sweet 16 birthday which is on November 23rd. The partay is being held at Disneyland with proceeds from ticket sales ($250.00 each) going towards Youth Services of America.

A snitch is quoted saying:

“Miley wanted special options like parking assist and a
cream-colored leather interior, so she ordered the car early. She is
telling everyone that she hopes to get a car when she turns 16, so when it
comes, she can say it was a surprise from her parents.”

Miley said recently:

“I definitely want to get something bad on the road, big enough
for all my friends and to scare all the cars away from me. I’m a good driver
but it’s everyone else that I’m worried about!”

No mention if she has been taking a driver’s ed course. Let’s hope so!

Katy rocked this watermelon ensemble for the Today Show Summer Concert Series the other day (August 29th) with the “Songs of Summer” show, along with the Pussycat Dolls, and Jesse McCartney.

The first 250 people who got there early got the best view, and a limited edition t-shirt, while the first 25 fanatics received a wristband to meet Katy after the show.

I just don’t know what to say about Katy’s outfit. Girl needs to kiss her stylist goodbye. Honestly it is so ridiculous I am at a loss for words. Her makeup is a joke as well. What is wrong with her? Jesse looks great in his grey suit and tie though.
