Actress Rachel Weisz used her 85-year-old aunt as inspiration for her new role in film Agora, she has revealed.

Rachel, 38, plays the role of an astronomer in Alexandria in the new flick and stars alongside late director Anthony Minghella’s actor son Max.

She said: "I had one real-life scientist in my world I could speak to and that was my aunt."

Agora is being shot by Chilean director Alejandro Amenabar, who was behind the 2001 film The Others starring Nicole Kidman.
