Slimmed-down Sharon Stone insists the secret to her recent weight-loss is down to nothing more than a healthy diet and exercise.
The Basic Instinct star, 51, has hit back at claims she may have resorted to extreme measures to help her lose weight.
She told US TV show Extra: “When you get in shape, the tabloids always want to create a scandal about it.
“But eating right and exercising makes you smaller.”
Stone, 51, has also faced criticism for being too thin after slimming down.
Some recent reports questioned if she is turning into a stick-thin “lollipop lady” – Hollywood stars whose head becomes out of proportion with their tiny bodies.
Sopranos star Edie Falco has revealed sobriety was her best weapon in a battle against breast cancer.
"I had really been taking care of myself for about 15 years before I got sick – not drinking, not smoking, eating well – so I fared very well," she said.
Falco, 45, who stars in Nurse Jackie, has said she struggled with alcohol for years. She has now been sober for 17 years.
The actress was diagnosed with cancer in 2003 and recalled that during her treatment, even on really bad days, she never missed work on the set of The Sopranos.
She told none of her fellow cast members and crew about her struggle at the time.
"They gave me very strong chemo drugs," she says. "I was so lucky that two of the biggest things in my life – my sobriety and my breast cancer – happened in the order they happened."
Sharon Osbourne has admitted she is "so close" to signing up to appear on British show Strictly Come Dancing.
The 46-year-old wife of rocker Ozzy Osbourne is said to be the BBC’s biggest target, who are hoping to succeed in signing the star.
When it airs later this year, the show will reportedly go up against The X Factor, which Sharon used to be a judge on before she sensationally quit.
She said: "I’ve been approached to take part in the next Strictly Come Dancing. I was asked to do it last year but I turned it down. I thought it would be disrespectful to Simon as it is X Factor’s opposition."
She added: "But this year, I’m seriously thinking about doing it. I’m so close."
Brooke Shields, who breaks out of her squeaky-clean mould in a set of racy shots for an Australian magazine, was zipped up in PVC, it was revealed.
In Cleopatra hair with a barely recognisable make-over, Shields appears in a black PVC corset and latex thigh stockings for a 28-page fashion shoot for magazine Kurv.
Shields is labelled a dominatrix in the report, while the shoot’s official theme is cougar on the magazine’s website.
Male model Chris Fawcett appears as her "prey" in the photos that were taken in March in Beverly Hills, the website says.
Shields worked with Tony Duran, a Los Angeles photographer for the issue, which appears on newstands on May 20, said publisher Nicholas Sage.
The shots were taken at Duran’s mansion. The magazine says: "Tony’s graphic portrayal of a beautiful and desirable woman in her 40s finding love with a younger man is an intentional attack at the continuing inequality of accepted standards between the sexes."
A PVC catsuit video appears on YouTube, suggesting the Batman-style gear could be making a fashion mark.
Vogue editor Anna Wintour has revealed she told US chat-show queen Oprah Winfrey to shed 20 pounds to be on the cover of the fashion mag.
The 59-year-old fashion legend – who inspired the hit movie The Devil Wears Prada – told Oprah that she might feel ‘more comfortable’ if she dropped the weight for her photoshoot.
"It was a very gentle suggestion," Wintour said.
"I went to Chicago to visit Oprah, and I suggested that it might be an idea that she lose a little bit of weight.
"I said simply that you might feel more comfortable.”
The request came before Oprah appeared on the cover of the fashion magazine in 1998 and according to Wintour, Oprah, 55, responded positively.
“She was a trooper. She totally welcomed the idea, and she went on a very stringent diet. It was one of our most successful covers ever."
In an interview with US news show 60 Minutes, Wintor also defended her magazine’s use of stick-thin models saying people should be more concerned about obesity.
"There’s such an epidemic of obesity in the United States, and for some reason, everybody focuses on anorexia."
Wintour, who commissioned a feature on the topic complete with illustrations, said that it was an important issue.
"We need to spend money time and education on teaching people to eat, exercise and take care of themselves in a healthier way," she said.
The cracks in Katie Price and Peter Andre’s marriage were already showing back at the Oscars in February.
After an argument with Katie before the awards, Peter said: "We had a big kind of row and then we had a discussion with the management and they said, ‘so what exactly is your problem?’ and she goes, ‘it’s Pete, he makes filming impossible.’
"I love filming but I just don’t like filming with Pete.’
"I know occasionally we disagree on things, I understand, but flipping hell, blaming me for her moody TV appearance, I’ve heard it all."
He added: "We argue all the time on and off but when I love that girl, I love her incredibly.
"When I’m not happy, I’m very not happy – but when she’s good, she’s the best."
Their ITV2 series Katie & Peter: Stateside has been following the couple moving to the US and has documented their tumultuous relationship over the last few months.
The latest episode showed the couple as they prepared for the Oscars in LA.
On the way to Elton John’s exclusive Oscar party they were already bickering in the car.
Peter said: "Kate I can’t tell you how stressed I am and I never get stressed.
"I’m panicking because I look a bit of a mess."
But Katie was more concerned Victoria Beckham: "If I saw her I would just go up to her and go, ‘look, I haven’t got a problem with you at all.’ Oh whatever."
Speaking after the Oscars, she said: "Before we went in, we were walking and we saw Victoria Beckham and she sort of looked at me and I sort of looked at her in a strange way.
"I don’t know who she was with and then went the complete opposite way.
"But she had the perfect opportunity for us to walk past and go ‘hi’ but it didn’t happen."
The singer has recently revealed that fact that Elton John played a big part in getting him off of the bad stuff. Eminem related how Elton John helped him out during the tough spots: “I talk to Elton a lot. We became friends and I talk to him about things, career wise. And he had a substance abuse problem in the past. So when I first wanted to get sober, I called him and spoke to him about it because, he’s somebody who’s in the business and can identify and relate to the lifestyle. Me and him have had similar lives and stuff. So I reached out to him and told him, ‘Look, I’m going through a problem and I need your advice.’” This certainly explains a lot. Eminem’s new eating habits, the gun thing, the dedication to his music… it seems he has finally found the way. Now all Eminem has to do is stick to it… should be a piece of cake, right?
