Nicole Kidman cancelled a trip to Kenya due to influenza.
The Australian actress decided to stay home to take care of herself, it was reported. She does not have swine flu.
Kidman, 42, an ambassador for the United Nations Development Fund For Women [Unifem], and spokeswoman against women’s violence, was travelling to the African nation to raise awareness on women’s rights.
Kidman’s representative stated: “Nicole is deeply sorry that, because she is ill with the seasonal flu, she cannot come to Kenya. The Say No – UNITE To End Violence Against Women campaign is a top priority and together with Unifem she will work to advance this critical initiative.”
She recently travelled to Washington DC for the cause and appealed to Congress on the issue of violence against women. Kidman is the mother of three children, two of whom she adopted with Tom Cruise, her former husband.
