Susan Sarandon could lasso a part made immortal in Big Valley, according to US reports.
The part of Victoria Barkley was made iconic by Barbara Stanwyck.
Sarandon is in talks for the remake of the 1960s western series.
Other actors in the series about a dynastic ranching family in California’s San Joaquin Valley included Richard Long, Peter Breck and Linda Evans.
Lee Majors, who later achieved fame in the Six Million Dollar Man, and was married for a time to the late Farrah Fawcett, appeared as Barkley’s stepson.
Kate Edelman Johnson, daughter of one of the show’s creators, will produce the remake. Stanwyck earned an Emmy for the role.

It will be interesting to see how this remake turns out. I really can imagine Susan playing this part successfully though.
