Bad Lieutenant star Eva Mendes said she gets ‘nervous’ when people call her a role model.
The 36-year-old actress stars opposite Nicolas Cage in the new movie and said she learns from her on-screen characters’ mistakes.
She said to UK newspaper Daily Mirror: “Oh yeah. When I mess up, I learn so much. That’s why I get nervous when people tell me I’m a role model. I go: ‘Why?’ I don’t know what that means.
“I’m so far from perfect, and I wouldn’t want to be. I have one policy in life, and that is to do no harm to others. If I hurt somebody’s feelings, I can’t live with myself.
“If I didn’t hold the door open for a little old lady, I’ll think about it later. I’m just like that.”
