Hollywood legend Ryan O’Neal says he feels like he is living a “dream” after finally ended his bitter feud with daughter Tatum.

The actor has not spoken to his daughter for years – and instead both slung increasingly hateful claims about one another in books and interviews.

But they finally reconnected at the funeral of Ryan’s long-term lover Farrah Fawcett – and have amazingly managed to patch up their differences.

“I keep thinking I’m in a dream and I don’t want it to end,” Ryan said. “I don’t know how I got in this dream, but I’m in it – and she’s in it with me.”

Tatum added: “It feels beautiful, you know.”

“It’s overdue,” Ryan said, his daughter immediately agreeing during a joint interview on U.S. TV. “Yeah, it’s overdue,” she said.

The passing years creating such a feud many showbusiness insiders assumed the reunion was something they would never see.

Tatum had made many bitter claims about her dad, accusing him of physical and mental abuse, and blaming him for the drug addictions both she and her half-brother developed at young ages.

Jodie Foster, 47, is more straight-laced that one might think.

The actress and former owner of a movie production house likes to stick to linear storytelling, which these days seems “too boring” for independent movies.

She offered this up as an explanation for why she doesn’t act in the kinds of indie films she has produced.

“I don’t think I’m well suited for them. I like doing films that are about solitary characters. I like a singular journey, as an actress – I like a linear portrait, and those things aren’t hugely ‘indie movies’.”

Foster, best known as Clarice Starling in Silence of the Lambs, founded a production company in 1992, Egg Pictures, that primarily made indie flicks. The company closed, however, in 2001.

Foster next stars opposite Mel Gibson in a black comedy titled The Beaver. Gibson, she told the Los Angeles Times, can do anything. She said: “He is crazy and wild, he has that wildness and the madness, but he is also an incredibly disciplined storyteller.”

Desperate Housewives star Drea de Matteo is being written out of the show.

Access Hollywood reports that Entertainment Weekly first reported the move. The show’s creator, Marc Cherry, said Drea, who plays Angie Bolen, was never meant to be a regular.

He said: “Part of the deal when we hired Drea was she was only interested in doing one season. She has a baby and is eager to get back to her life in New York. As we build toward the end [of the series] and we start undoing the many layers of [Angie], everyone will get how brilliant she is.”

Cross, 47, plays the role of neurotic housewife Bree in the hit US drama and said she would have liked to have been involved in the new storyline.

The latest drama in the show sees Dana Delany’s character Katherine lock lips with Robin, who is played by Julie Benz.

Talking about the scene, Cross said: “I’m a little jealous that I’m not involved. What is going on?!”

Asked whom she would kiss out of all the other ladies, she said: “All of them! They’re all fabulous.”

Hollywood actress Glenn Close has revealed that she knocked back a jug full of margaritas before filming the raunchy lift scene in Fatal Attraction.

The Damages star, 62, told how she ordered a jug full of booze before getting hot and steamy with co-star Michael Douglas.

She said: “There’s some scenes – like the elevator scene – where I asked for a pitcher of margaritas and I drank about half of it,” she said during a discussion about the movie with Douglas.

“You did pretty good,” he laughed.

“And you were happy,” she smiled back.

The pair were discussing their roles in the 1987 hit thriller for an Oprah Winfrey Oscar special, which is due to air on US TV this week.

Sitting closely together, the stars appeared relaxed as they laughed and joked about their on- and off-screen antics.

Reminiscing about the notorious lift scene, Douglas, 55, said: “I was a happy guy. I was a very happy guy.

“The elevator scene. That’ll be a good memory. That’s going to be one whole chapter in the book.”

Close added: “I felt I was in such a safe environment and you were a fantastic partner with that. I think we really believed it was extraordinary storytelling.”

Newcomer Mia Wasikowska has been panned for her portrayal of Alice in the Tim Burton 3-D fantasy Alice In Wonderland that debuted last week.

Media in Wasikowska’s homeland, Australia, reported the panning by a British movie critic who declared the 20-year-old looked like she was “on heroin”.

The movie stars Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter, Burton’s wife. Robbie Collin, the critic from News of the World, did not spare his pen for the stars, either.

Depp’s Mad Hatter he called a “flailing, pointless idiot”. Depp gave “the worst role he’s played in his life”.

Collin found Bonham Carter, star of the Merchant Ivory flicks, lifeless. “Put some bloody EFFORT into it, woman,” he said of her portrayal of the Red Queen. Collin likened the performance to a “seventh-rate impression of Queenie from Blackadder II”.

For him, the movie was a “bona fide, bums-in-the-air fiasco that needs to be burned and the ashes hurtled off in the direction of the nearest black hole as soon as you can, NASA”.

He also said: “In fact, it’s Lesbian Vampire Killers bad – the kind of film that you don’t just dislike or even hate, but one that your body physically rejects like a dodgy organ transplant.”

Collin said of Wasikowska: “There’s not been a lead character this paper-flat since the South Park movie. The girl’s got all the warmth of a refrigerated trout, and a face you’d expect to see Blu-Tacked to the inside of a London phone box. She’s not a heroine – she looks like she’s ON heroin.”

Gwyneth Paltrow is going for old Hollywood glamour for her next movie role.

The Oscar-winning actress has reportedly signed up to play screen legend Marlene Dietrich.

The Iron Man star has been linked to the lead role in a BBC drama based on the life of the German actress, who died in 1992.

Dietrich’s personal life was just as colourful as her high-profile film roles – she was bisexual and allegedly battled a dependency on drink and drugs throughout her career.

She was also rumoured to have enjoyed a string of love affairs with stars including Frank Sinatra, Yul Brynner and John Wayne.

Scriptwriter Andrew Davies, who also penned the screenplays for Bridget Jones’ Diary and the recent version of Brideshead Revisited, has based the film on a 1992 biography of Dietrich by the actress’ daughter Maria Riva.

Former Cheers actress Kirstie Alley was left red-faced when “super crush” Jamie Foxx surprised her on a US TV show.

The 59-year-old actress held her head in her hands as Foxx, 42, appeared via satellite during her appearance on Oprah Winfrey’s chat show.

Just moments earlier, she had been telling the talkshow host how she would like a “bootie call” from the Dreamgirls star.

“I don’t envision myself marrying Jamie Foxx, but I could imagine spending three weeks in Italy with him,” she grinned.

When asked by Oprah what she would do with Foxx, the TV personality merely gave a wicked smile. “My daughter’s in the audience,” she blushed.

Winfrey revealed the satellite link-up with Foxx after encouraging Alley to talk about the actor.

But after screaming with embarrassment, Alley ran over to the TV screen and began kissing and stroking her crush.

Foxx, not fazed in the slightest, swirled his tongue around while the actress smothered him.

“Kirstie, can I drive down your alley tonight?” he playfully sang.
