Forget hiring a nanny. Angelina Jolie has revealed her six-strong brood of children help take care of each other.
The Salt actress – who is raising three adopted children, Maddox, Pax and Zahara, as well as three biological children, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne, with partner Brad Pitt – said it tends to be the girls who are more nurturing.
The 35-year-old told Yahoo: “They all take turns. I mean it’s funny because the boys are the oldest but the girls are always the most nurturing. The girls are much younger but they seem to take care of things in the house.”
Actress Angelina Jolie said quiet moments in her household are ‘very rare’ nowadays.
Jolie, 35, has six young kids with partner Brad Pitt, 46, and admitted they lead hectic lifestyles.
She said to Britain’s Stylist magazine: “It’s a joke in the house, I’m constantly on fire. When I wake up in the morning, I jump out of bed – partly because I have a lot of children.
“And I pace when I’m on the phone. It’s actually very hard for me to calm down. It’s good for me to have a lot of chaos in my home.”
She added: “I’m not somebody that needs quiet moments because I never get them. They’re very rare. I find meditation in sitting on the floor with the kids colouring for an hour, or going on the trampoline.
“You do something you love, that makes you happy, and that gives you your meditation.”
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have reportedly splashed out and bought a stunning villa in the Italian countryside.
The Hollywood power couple are said to be the new owners of the property that boasts 15 bedrooms, a home cinema, two swimming pools, a gym and several jacuzzis.
“Mr Pitt and Ms Jolie saw it for 10 minutes and they said yes,” property consultant Alexander Proto told E Online. “They were very determined. We are very pleased have worked with them … no problems, very nice, very competent, ideal customers,”
There are reports the parents of six paid somewhere in the vicinity of $40 million for the estate, but Proto reputedly would not confirm the price.
Jolie clearly revelled in filming The Tourist in Venice earlier this year, with Pitt and the kids joining her in the city of canals. They stayed in a 15th-century palazzo and were often spotted out and about, either on the water or with gelatos in hand.
Jolie and Pitt already own a château in the south of France said to be worth $60 million.
Angelina Jolie has revealed that she likes the idea of starring as Cleopatra in a new film.
In reference to the role, the 35-year-old told reporters at the Salt premiere in Hollywood: “I would be honoured.”
But Jolie added that she hasn’t got the script yet.
It was recently confirmed by book publisher Little, Brown that the actress was discussing the possibility of starring in the film adaptation of the historical biography, Cleopatra: A Life.
Little, Brown publisher Michael Pietsch told UsMagazine.com: “Angelina Jolie radiates grace and power, exactly the qualities that [author] Stacy Schiff finds in her biography of the most intriguing ruler who ever lived.”
But Angelina does deny rumours that she could be playing Elizabeth Taylor, who starred as Cleopatra in 1963, in a future biopic.
She said: “I have never heard that before.
“I don’t think that anybody could be Elizabeth Taylor better than Elizabeth Taylor.”
Angelina Jolie has revealed she can’t wait for her and Brad Pitt to be doting grandparents.
The ‘Salt’ actress said she is looking forward to her future with Brad and wants to have a long life so she can be around for when her kids have their own children.
She told the Chicago Sun-Times: “I lost my mother not so long ago and there is something about the years passing where you really appreciate life more each day. The amazing part is you have a history with the people you love. And it becomes important for you to stay healthy and age gracefully.
“I want to see my grandkids. I want to see my children grown and spend the years with Brad. I want everything.”
The Hollywood star also revealed she also has a few other things on her to do list.
She added: “The truth is I’d love to live in Africa at some point. I’d also love to spend more time flying planes. And artistically, there will be other things to do.”

Actress Angelina Jolie said she would ‘love to’ work with Brad Pitt again in the future.
The 35-year-old star met the actor on set of the 2005 movie Mr and Mrs Smith, in which they played a warring couple.
Jolie admitted she would like to star in another movie with her partner, but so far they haven’t found the right script.
She said to Vanity Fair magazine: “I’d love to [work with him again]. We’ve talked about it. We’d have to figure out who’s going to watch the kids, but it’s really about finding the right thing, because we’ve looked.
“When you’re a couple, there are certain things people don’t want to see you do.”
Asked about a Mr and Mrs Smith sequel, she said: “People have tried. And it’s strange: we do have kids in the movie? We’ve thought about that, but it becomes personal now that we actually have kids.
“And if we work on it, we pull from our own life, which is funny to us, but you feel strange sharing too much.”
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have reportedly revealed their first designs for a new high-end jewellery line.
The A-list stars have developed the serpent-themed Protector Collection for British jewellery firm Asprey.
All net proceeds will be donated to the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict.
A set of 18-carat white gold cufflinks encrusted with elegant black diamonds and emerald snake eyes will be the first piece to go on sale, priced at $10,000.
A spokesperson for Asprey said: "During Angelina’s first pregnancy she was given a snake ring, to guard her and her unborn child.
"She has subsequently given birth to Shiloh and her twins, Vivienne and Knox, and the symbol has become endowed with great personal importance as a family guardian.”
The snake motif is also featured in a series of pendants, bracelets, rings, a children’s tooth box and a silver egg cup.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have spoken of their devastation at the earthquake in Haiti.
The Hollywood couple have previously visited the troubled country with Fugees star Wyclef Jean – and immediately reached out to him to offer their help in his aid efforts for his homeland.
“We are devastated by the news from Haiti,” Pitt and Jolie said in a joint statement. “We will work closely with our good friend Wyclef Jean to support the humanitarian efforts on the island and help those who have been injured and left without homes and shelter.”
Jean has long been an outspoken campaigner for help for Haiti and immediately rushed into action at news of the earthquake, which is feared to have killed thousands.
He begged for help, saying “idle hands will only make this tragedy worse”, adding: “The international community must also rise to the occasion.”
Superstar couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have given a foster care organisation a fabulous Christmas present.
The Hollywood couple, who have three adopted children of their own, have donated just over $100,000 (£62,600) to the American SOS Children’s Villages.
The money will go towards the creation of alternative foster care programmes for children in Florida and Illinois.
Angelina said in a statement: “We have seen first-hand the remarkable job SOS does to raise orphaned and abandoned children and keep families together.”
Brad and Angelina adopted Maddox from Cambodia, Pax from Vietnam and Zahara from Ethiopia.
They have three biological children, Shiloh and twins Vivienne and Knox.
