Britney Spears got into the holiday spirit by Christmas caroling in Los Angeles on Friday with talk show host Ellen DeGeneres. The show will air Tuesday December 16th.

Britney’s wearing a festive red crushed velvet hoop gown, tartan shawl and bonnet for the outing, while Ellen donned a mistletoe-topped bonnet and green crushed velvet outfit. Both gals wore white gloves to top off their vintage look.

Britney flipped a candy cane switch which turned the power on to light the tree on stage at the ‘Light of the Angels’ Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony at the LA Live entertainment complex on Thursday, December 4, in Los Angeles.

She was joined by councilwoman Jan Perry and the mayor of Los Angeles, Antonio Villaraigosa.

LA Live is a $2.5 billion dollar project and so far is only three years into the construction. It’ll be quite some time longer before the cineplex is completed which is slated for sometime next year.

Madonna has marital woes, and it also seems she has movie woes.

She released her “Filth and Wisdom” directorial debut three weeks ago and there was quite a bit of fanfare at New York’s IFC Center. She really hasn’t received any critical acclaim as an actress, but she did receive some positive reviews for directing this feature starring members of the group Gogol Bordello.

It now seems that New Yorkers aren’t really into it. So far, “Filth and Wisdom” has sold just over $18,000 in tickets since its release October 17th. What is ironic is that it’s not even playing in New York! The odd film played in just three theaters over the weekend: in Toronto, St. Louis, and Columbus, Ohio.

The three cinema showings this past weekend was down from 10 the week before.

Her soon to be ex hubby Guy Ritchie isn’t doing much better. His “RockNRolla” seems to be another box office bust for him. It’s only made $3 million since its release on October 8th. On Halloween, Warner Bros, increased its screens from 19 to 826. Not even that effort helped it along. On Sunday when the take for most movies is up, “RockNRolla” fell 28.7 percent.

She has a concert in L.A. tonight and supposedly Justin and Britney will be there to perform with her and there’s no doubt she’ll be getting great reviews for that.

Doesn’t Britney look like her old self on December’s cover of Australian Cosmo? The reason why she does is because the pictures are 5 years old! The photos were taken for an article that was done in Esquire Magazine in 2003. The lovely photography was done by James White.

I’m thinking that the Aussies saw the photo-shoot fiasco that happened with OKAY magazine - the one where she showed up with a posse of her people, ordered greasy take-out fried chicken, wiped the grease on the clothes she was set to use. Remember it now? She refused to use their makeup artist, took off before the shoot was finished and helped herself to the clothes and the jewelry!

OKAY ended up with nothing but aggravation. I believe they ended up using older photos also. The Aussies must have decided that it was easier to just to use some previously taken pictures and voila… this is the result.

This unflattering picture of Britney leaving a dance studio is all over the internet with everyone seeming to be in a state of disgust with her furry arm pits. Give the diva a break. She probably doesn’t shave her own pits and wasn’t able to get a wax appointment that fit her schedule!

She’s wearing a bra but does she want a medal for letting us all know she is? Some of us do not need to be kept informed of her lack of prompt attention to her personal hygiene routine. She must have forgotten that she isn’t always going to be photo-shopped when out and about on her daily routine.

MTV will air a 90-minute documentary, ” For the Record” which hits the airwaves November 30th @10 PM. That’s 2 days before her new album drops on her birthday. It’s all about Britney Spears making her come back. She had this to say about why she’s doing it:

“So much has gone on over the last couple of years and there’s a lot that people don’t know about me that I want them to know,” Britney says. “I wanted to make this film because I started to feel like I wasn’t being seen in the light that I wanted to be seen in. This is an opportunity to set the record straight and talk about what I’ve been through and where I’m headed.”

The life of a pop star mom : a busy week in New York, the week before she was shooting a new video (wearing that black wig) put her mansion up for sale, no doubt did some house hunting for a new mansion, getting ready to do promo for her new album to drop.

She’s a mother of two, employs an entourage, loves to shop, and has bills to pay. The look on her face on some of the recent photos I have seen of her reflect an exhausted and still troubled woman.

What about all the parents that manage to raise kids without nannies, psychiatrists, attorneys, conservators or entourages! Props to them, how do they do it?

Adnan Ghalib has told Star Magazine that there is no sex tape. He went on to say that Heat Magazine made up the quotes and that he never filmed himself and Britney: He said:

“I don’t know where these quotes I’m supposed to have said have come from. What I do know is they certainly didn’t come from me and they are completely false. I’m extremely upset and distressed and I’m taking legal action… This story has caused a lot of hurt to my family and people close to me.”

This guy has balls. He used to earn a living taking pics of celebs that were usually attached to a ridiculous story about the celeb which hurts that celeb and the celeb’s family as well.

Now he knows what it’s like being on the other side of the cam and says he’s going to sue??

Did Pappy Spears cut him a check?

Britney, her father Jamie and manager Larry Rudolph were at the Polo in the Palisades event at the Will Rogers Polo Club in LA this past Saturday afternoon.

They were cheering on a team of players wearing pink polo shirts with “Spears Family” written on the back. She was the guest of honor at a charity match. It was sponsored by the Promises Foundation - an LA-based charity which helps Miriam’s House, a home for recovering mothers and their children.

Here is Britney’s mom Lynne Spears’s new book cover shown today, but the book itself is due out Sept. 16th. It was originally supposed to be publicized earlier but was put on hold after Britney’s younger sister Jamie Lynn got pregnant. Originally the gossip was that it was going to be a parenting book, but apparently that was not the case.

Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World is a memoir, describing Spears’s “story of what it was like being a mom and raising two very famous people,” a spokesman for publisher Thomas Nelson said in a statement to PEOPLE a couple of months ago.

Said the publisher at the time: “Lynne never stopped working on it because she wants to express her love for her children and tell their stories through a mother’s eyes.”

It should be an interesting read. I’m not surprised she didn’t shelve the project once it became public knowledge that her teenage daughter was pregnant and Britney was hospitalized since she no doubt spent the advance she received. Some things are just better left unsaid, so hopefully she tries to keep some of the private family matters private.
