Former professional boxer Laila Ali has revealed that her toddler son has “been nothing but a good big brother” to his new baby sister. The 33-year-old daughter of legendary boxer Muhammad Ali gave birth to her daughter Sydney at the beginning of April, and she said that her two-year-old son Curtis “CJ” Jr has adapted well to having a younger sibling. The former Dancing With The Stars contestant, who is married to ex-NFL star Curtis Conway, told People Magazine: “Right now, he’s being a little brat because he wants to keep going on the slide, but he loves her. “I was concerned that he was going to be jealous, but he’s not. He loves her to death, and he’s been nothing but a good big brother.”
Kate Hudson has held a baby shower for her nearest and dearest in Malibu. Around 80 guests gathered for the bash at a private house on Sunday afternoon, including Hudson’s stylist Rachel Zoe, and her friends Courteney Cox, Jessica Capshaw and Jennifer Meyer Maguire. The 32-year-old actress and her fiancé Matt Bellamy have decided against finding out the sex of the baby, which is due in July, so well-wishers were sure to bring only ‘gender neutral’ gifts, according to People magazine. “She looked amazing and kept giggling while mingling with friends, nibbling on food and playing games,” said an insider. “She seemed to have the best time.” The proud parents to be also appeared at the Chanel hosted benefit in Malibu for the Natural Resources Defense Council’s Ocean Initiative, where an onlooker said, “Kate was just glowing and looked amazing. She and Matt stayed close all night and they seemed very happy together.”
Former Ugly Betty star Ana Ortiz is expecting her second child. The 40-year-old actress told the news exclusively to Latina.com, and also revealed what the baby’s sex is. She said: “We know it’s a boy!” Ortiz and her musician husband Noah Lebenzon are already parents to daughter Paloma, who will turn two in June 2010, and said they “are trying to come up with some names that we can agree on”. The star added that she hopes to find a Spanish name for her little boy. She said: “It has to be Spanish, but something non-speakers can pronounce without mauling. Suggestions? I’m open.”
Bridesmaids star Maya Rudolph joked she thinks she’s about 25 months pregnant. The 38-year-old actress is currently pregnant with her third child and the baby is due in July but the star admitted she feels like she’s been expecting much longer. She said on US show Chelsea Lately: “I think I’m 25 months pregnant. [I'm due in] two more months… in dog years, so that’s 25. Honestly, because it’s my third, I feel like I’ve been pregnant for like six years, seriously.” Rudolph added that her daughter Lucille’s birth 18 months ago didn’t go to plan. She said: “[A homebirth] was not my plan, but that’s what happened… because the baby came out really fast. Luckily, she just kind of glided into her father’s arms.”
Inception actress Marion Cotillard and her French actor boyfriend Guillaume Canet are now parents. The couple’s son Marcel was born last night in Paris, according to People.com. A source told the website: “Mother and baby are fine.” Hollywood star Marion, 35, is said to be ‘very happy’. Cotillard, who is set to co-star with Christian Bale and Anne Hathaway in the upcoming Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises, began dating 38-year-old Canet in 2007.
Katie Holme’s rep has rubbished reports that the actress is pregnant. The rumour mill went in to overdrive after the 32-year-old was pictured sporting what looked like a baby bump, with speculation mounting that she and husband Tom Cruise had decided to give daughter Suri, five, a little brother or sister. But spokesperson Ina Treciokes told E!, “She’s not pregnant and this photo looks doctored.” However, photographic agency Xposure – who released the pictures – deny altering the picture. Spokesperson David Taylor told the Daily Mail, “We never doctor pictures to make anyone look fat, thin, pregnant, and so on. We have not doctored these pictures.”
Reality star Kourtney Kardashian has revealed that she has put on “almost 10lb” since she stopped breastfeeding her baby son. The 32-year-old Kourtney & Kim Take New York star had previously said that breastfeeding her son Mason, now 16 months, had helped her to lose weight. She recently tweeted: “Wow. I have gained almost 10lb since I stopped breastfeeding. Time to step up my workout game and get over to Rite Aid for some QuickTrim!” Kardashian revealed in March that she had stopped breastfeeding her little boy after her family told her she should start weaning him. She told E! Online: “I mean, everyone would say, ‘It’s time, it’s time, come on’. I started to stop a little bit, weaning and all that, and I’m like, ‘Why am I doing this? If I’m happy and he’s happy?’ “So I said, ‘Let me see when he asks me for it’. Which is like, he doesn’t talk, just pulling at my shirt a little, And he only asked once a night. So I did it and he just stopped. I’m like, ‘I just want to do what he wants.’”
Kendra Wilkinson has revealed that she and her husband, Hank Baskett, are trying for a second baby. The couple welcomed Hank Baskett IV in December 2009, and the former Playboy pin-up said the time has come to add another child to their family. She told E! News, “We’re practicing for number two. Why not? Just one more would be great. And I wouldn’t mind having number two soon. “We have so much love to give – we’re just loving baby Hank so much. We’re raising him well, teaching him everything he needs to be taught. “But yeah, I really feel like it’s naturally time for another one soon. I really do.” Kendra, who once dated Hugh Hefner, was voted off Dancing With The Stars earlier this week and said that she is looking forward to tucking into some nice food. January Jones will be a “great mother”, her Mad Men co-star Aaron Staton has revealed. The 33-year-old actress, who recently announced that she is pregnant with her first child, has reportedly spoken about wanting to become a mum for some time. Speaking about his co-star’s pregnancy to People Magazine at the Creative Coalition’s Be A Star launch, in Washington, Staton said: “It’s something that she’s wanted to do and that she’s excited to do. January is such a sweet person. I think she’s an honest person. I think she’s really going to be a great mother.” Staton, who has a 10-month-old son, added that he doesn’t think Jones — who is due to give birth in the autumn — will need much advice about motherhood. He said: “So much of it is natural. It’s sort of intimidating, but so much of it comes naturally when you meet the kid.”
Comedienne Tina Fey has revealed that she pumped breast milk while watching TV show Entourage. The 30 Rock star told GQ magazine that following the birth of her daughter Alice in 2005, she was unable to produce enough milk naturally and had to resort to using a breast pump, which she found “upsetting”. Consequently, the 40-year-old star, who is currently pregnant with her second child, attempted to make using the pump more enjoyable. She said: “I would try to pump milk while watching Entourage on demand. And that was the worst possible way to do it. “Like, I had the pump on, and I’d hear Turtle on TV, ‘Yo, E, you ever f*** a girl when she has her period?’ I just sat there thinking, ‘Oooh, this is not how this is meant to be.’” But jokes aside, Fey says her hubby, Jeff Richmond, was “really good about helping out” — most of the time. She said: “The problem was [nappies]. He never got past the poop. He would do these [makes gagging noises], ‘Oh God, I’m gonna vomit’. Never got over it.”
