Way before she was famous, a young Cate Blanchett appeared in a 17-year-old TV ad for the Aussie chocolate biscuits, Tim Tams. The Oscar winner appeared in the ad as a 25-year-old budding actress back in 1994. The commercial, only screened in Australia, led her to being called a ‘Tim-Tam girl’, much to her annoyance. In the ad, Cate rubs a magic lantern and is granted three wishes by a genie. She says: “I want a packet of Tim Tams that never runs out.” Her screen boyfriend then says: “I’ll have two of those.” Speaking about the ad, Cate has said she only did it to ‘earn money for a trip to India’. She also insisted: “I’ve never even seen the ad.” She said: “I am dumbfounded at how many people remember that. It really underlines the power of advertising.” Tim Tams are an institution Down Under and have been compared to the Penguin biscuits in the UK. The snacks, first produced in 1964 and named after a US racehorse, are made by Arnott’s Biscuits in Australia. Around 35 million packs – comprising of 400 million biscuits – are sold each year.

Hollywood star Charlize Theron has described Prince Harry as lovely after they met at a recent polo event. The 35-year-old was seen laughing with the prince at the Polo Cup Ascot back in May. And now the actress has praised Harry, 26, for his work in Africa, where he helped to establish the charity Sentebale, which aims to help vulnerable children in Lesotho. According to Access Hollywood, Charlize told reporters at a recent party to celebrate the launch of new watch Dior VIII: “He was really lovely. Super nice. I really like the work he does in Africa.”

Kate Hudson has held a baby shower for her nearest and dearest in Malibu. Around 80 guests gathered for the bash at a private house on Sunday afternoon, including Hudson’s stylist Rachel Zoe, and her friends Courteney Cox, Jessica Capshaw and Jennifer Meyer Maguire. The 32-year-old actress and her fiancé Matt Bellamy have decided against finding out the sex of the baby, which is due in July, so well-wishers were sure to bring only ‘gender neutral’ gifts, according to People magazine. “She looked amazing and kept giggling while mingling with friends, nibbling on food and playing games,” said an insider. “She seemed to have the best time.” The proud parents to be also appeared at the Chanel hosted benefit in Malibu for the Natural Resources Defense Council’s Ocean Initiative, where an onlooker said, “Kate was just glowing and looked amazing. She and Matt stayed close all night and they seemed very happy together.”

Chelsea Handler has revealed that she could be ‘done’ with her Lately show. The 36-year-old comedian said that her contract with E! is currently being reviewed, but stated that it might be time for her to move on. She told The Hollywood Reporter, “We’ll see how it goes. It may turn out that I’m done altogether. “It’s a lengthy process. They tell you’re valuable, and then you get a counter and you think, ‘I guess you really don’t care about me at all.’ Nothing is set in stone, so if things go south, then obviously I will be moving along.” Asked what kind of projects she would like to pursue in the future, she replied, “I want to do something that’s going to utilize my brain a little more than this show. “If Lately is the show that I’m going to do, it’s going to change. But it may turn out that I’m done with it altogether. I can’t keep doing the same thing – my brain is bleeding. “I want to do something that’s more mindful and isn’t celebrity-centred. I’m not looking to totally bail on E! They’ve done a lot for me, and I like it here.”

Former Ugly Betty star Ana Ortiz is expecting her second child. The 40-year-old actress told the news exclusively to Latina.com, and also revealed what the baby’s sex is. She said: “We know it’s a boy!” Ortiz and her musician husband Noah Lebenzon are already parents to daughter Paloma, who will turn two in June 2010, and said they “are trying to come up with some names that we can agree on”. The star added that she hopes to find a Spanish name for her little boy. She said: “It has to be Spanish, but something non-speakers can pronounce without mauling. Suggestions? I’m open.”

Bridesmaids star Maya Rudolph joked she thinks she’s about 25 months pregnant. The 38-year-old actress is currently pregnant with her third child and the baby is due in July but the star admitted she feels like she’s been expecting much longer. She said on US show Chelsea Lately: “I think I’m 25 months pregnant. [I'm due in] two more months… in dog years, so that’s 25. Honestly, because it’s my third, I feel like I’ve been pregnant for like six years, seriously.” Rudolph added that her daughter Lucille’s birth 18 months ago didn’t go to plan. She said: “[A homebirth] was not my plan, but that’s what happened… because the baby came out really fast. Luckily, she just kind of glided into her father’s arms.”

Ryan Reynolds has revealed that he had to keep taking time out while filming forthcoming action movie Green Lantern, because he kept hitting his head during stunts. The 34-year-old actor said that he felt like being sick after absorbing so many bangs to the head. He told Contact Music, “I’ve had a few moments where you need to take a knee and just call for a time out. “I’ve smacked my head a lot and that sucks. I’m at the point where I am just nauseous now when I hit my head and that is a weird feeling, but we are getting there.” He added that he trained hard for the film in a bid to prepare his body for director Martin Campbell’s ‘mentally unhinged’ stunts. He said, “The training I did for the movie was obviously doing a lot of stuff, but mostly it was functional for me so that I could make it through this with a guy like Martin Campbell who can be mentally unhinged. “You do train for it. You definitely need to train. I mean the physicality of it is intense. I know a lot of actors yak about this ad nauseam, but it is on a movie like this. “Especially with Martin who likes it fast, ugly, brutal, and real – so he is pushing people to the limits and it is tough, you know.”

Scream star Neve Campbell has been granted a divorce a day after what would have been her fourth wedding anniversary. The actress has now officially ended her marriage to ex-husband John Light after the divorce documents were signed on May 6, according to TMZ. The terms of their divorce settlement have not been revealed but it’s claimed when she first filed for divorce she asked that Light was not to be given any spousal support. The Canadian actress, 37, met Light, a British actor, while they were filming the movie Investigating Sex in 2002. They got engaged in 2005 and married in Malibu in 2007 but didn’t have any children.

Journalist Celia Walden has said her husband Piers Morgan’s job on CNN has been an ‘unnecessary hurdle’ in their first year of marriage. The 34-year-old married Morgan, 46, in June last year after dating him for the past five years. She admitted that her hubby’s new role on the US show Piers Morgan Tonight has been tough for her living in the UK. Speaking about their first year of marriage, she said to Britain’s Stylist magazine: “We’d literally just got back from our honeymoon when Piers got offered the job in America and I think the last thing any new bride expects is for her husband to be like: ‘See ya!’ “I did feel a bit conned, especially because I’ve been home on my own and every time I turn on the telly I’ve got his mug staring back at me. “This last year has definitely felt testing, not of the strength of our relationship, but in the sense that it’s just felt wrong for both of us. It’s been a bit of an unnecessary hurdle really.”

How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris has sold his Los Angeles home for $1.53 million. Built in 1950, the property sits on more than half an acre in the suburb of Studio City, and boasts mountain and valley views. The interior features dark-stained wood floors, vaulted ceilings and French doors. The house’s 2,408 square feet includes a living room with fireplace, a media and family room, a kitchen with an island and wine bar, three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The guest suite has its own entrance, while outdoor entertaining spaces include a swimming pool with spa, a fireplace, an island barbecue and a pergola dining patio. Public records show he bought the property in 2007 for $1.5 million. It came on the market in mid-March at $1.59 million.
