Neve Campbell has admitted that she wasn’t surprised when her Scream co-stars Courteney Cox and David Arquette announced their separation. The actress — who separated from husband John Light last summer — said that she had a good idea that the couple were struggling during the filming of Scream 4. She told iVillage: “I wasn’t surprised. I was aware a little bit of what was going on. They were very professional during the film and weren’t talking about it or making an issue of it, but I was somewhat aware of what they were dealing with.” But she believes that the estranged couple “still love each other very much”. And she revealed that she finally struck up a friendship with Courteney whilst making the fourth installment in the horror franchise. “We hadn’t had enough time on the last film to get to know each other properly, and we just sort of fell in love with each other,” she explained. “She’s a fantastic woman, really hilarious and wise.”
Zsa Zsa Gabor has been rushed to hospital after she became “hysterical” over the news of Dame Elizabeth Taylor’s death, according to US reports. The 94-year-old screen legend was only recently released from hospital after being treated for a serious leg infection earlier this month. But, according to her husband Frederic von Anhalt, Gabor “went hysterical” when she learned her old friend had passed away at the age of 79 — just a month after fellow actress Jane Russell died, aged 89. Now Gabor reportedly fears that she will be next. According to RadarOnline.com, Von Anhalt said: “Zsa Zsa said, ‘Celebrities go in threes and I’m next’.” He also revealed that the Hungarian actress’s blood pressure “went through the roof” after she heard that Dame Elizabeth had died in the early hours of this morning. The two Hollywood icons have a lot in common. Both were married multiple times — Gabor walked down the aisle nine times, while Dame Elizabeth got hitched eight times, twice to actor Richard Burton. And both women have been plagued with ill health over the years. During the past year, Gabor has been in and out of hospital and most recently had part of her right leg amputated.
Unfortunately it’s the hotel people who have to suffer for it. It seems that while staying at the Soho Hotel in Berlin recently, Madonna demanded that the hotel renovate the room which she was to be occupying in addition to a few other rather disturbing demands. This is what a source related about Madonna’s more recent needs: "Madonna doesn’t like to sleep where other people have slept. She needs all new things – a new bed, fresh paint, new lights. So we renovated the whole room. We have never had a request like this before. We also had to provide 50 bottles of Kabbalah water for Madonna and her entourage. And when she eventually turned up, she brought loads of security, who demanded other people left any other part of the hotel that she wished to enter." It just doesn’t seem to be worth it to house celebrities anymore, especially celebrities like Madonna who apparently think themselves some sort of earthly manifestation of a deity. That time in Malawi sure seems to have done a number on her.
Barbra Streisand is hoping to clear the air, saying she didn’t mean to diss “Glee” and misspoke when she said that she would never appear on the hit TV show. The iconic singer/actress is now doing a bit of damage control saying “When asked if I would ever appear on Glee, I should have said, ‘You never know.’ It was wrong to say, ‘Not if I can help it.’ What I meant was that I’ve been overwhelmed preparing for my performance on MusiCares, the Grammys, recording a new album, and starting a new movie. So I couldn’t take on any more work, and besides that, I wasn’t asked.” Nice save.
Model-actress Elizabeth Hurley has been given a Blue Fronted Amazon parrot for Christmas, but only received the exotic bird this week. The 45-year-old has called the animal Ping Pong and took to her Twitter page to express her excitement with the new pet. She wrote: “Home soon, where my new pet will be waiting. Yes! Finally, a Blue Fronted Amazonian. Beside myself with excitement. “Ping Pong-the new parrot-was my favourite Christmas present…Making a list of everything I want to teach her to say.” Although Hurley, who recently announced she was splitting from husband Arun Nayar, seemed a bit worried about her new feathered friend. Elizabeth added: “Have been studying parrot attacks on You Tube. Slightly nervous.”
The King’s Speech star Helena Bonham Carter has hit out at those who criticised her outfit at the Golden Globes. The actress, 44, recently held a question and answer session at the Everyman cinema close to her London home and she talked about the response she got to her outfit for the event, which she teamed with odd shoes. She said: “I am not Hannibal Lecter wearing someone else’s skin. Why does it matter? I make do with what is in my wardrobe. I think one should but I receive comments that that’s not good enough. “I think one can wear the same thing, in this day and age especially. There are too many awards, no other profession gets so many. There are millions of people who deserve awards. “That’s what I have a problem with and the fact it’s now hijacked by the fashion industry – it’s all what you wear.”
The Tourist star Johnny Depp has been branded as a bit of a diva after being the only celebrity at the Golden Globes who wanted to have a bodyguard. According to British newspaper the Metro, one guest said the 47-year-old was ‘the only celeb in the ballroom that needed an escort’. The Pirates Of The Caribbean actor looked less than pleased at Sunday’s awards ceremony as host Ricky Gervais made jokes about his and Angelina Jolie’s new movie The Tourist. He probably felt a bit more down when he missed out on the film actor prize for comedy or musical after being nominated twice for The Tourist and Alice In Wonderland.
Hollywood actress Zsa Zsa Gabor is having her right leg amputated above the knee, her publicist has confirmed. The 93-year-old star was due to go under the surgeon’s knife today (Fri) due to persistent blood clots and an infection. Gabor was taken to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center last week and had been undergoing treatment to see if the amputation could be avoided. But her publicist John Blanchette said the operation had become a necessity. “This is a very dangerous operation for someone her age,” Blanchette said. “But she will die otherwise.” He said Gabor will have about three-fourths of her leg amputated. Gabor fell out of bed and broke her hip on July 17. She underwent hip-replacement surgery and was sent home after about a month, but she went back to the hospital two days later when she developed blood clots. Gabor was given last rites at the hospital on August 15 and was taken home to her Bel Air Road mansion the following day after declining any more procedures.
Legendary screen star Faye Dunaway was left with a broken wrist and a head wound after suffering a serious fall outside a Los Angeles gym, according to a report. TMZ.com says the Hollywood actress, 69, also suffered post surgery complications after the recent tumble. She now has a metal plate in her wrist and is reportedly confined to bed rest. The details emerged after Dunaway applied to a California judge to postpone a court hearing relating to an ongoing legal battle with an ex-employee. According to the celebrity gossip website, she is being sued for £3,700 by film editor John Paul Horstmann amid claims she failed to pay him for three weeks of work. The Oscar winner, who also suffered a laceration to the head in the fall, claims Horstmann’s allegations are ‘spurious’ and ‘without merit’. But because of her fragile condition she is unable to attend court and had applied to push back the December 3 hearing until the end of January 2011. The judge reportedly approved the application.
Sarah Ferguson toyed with the idea of starring in a celebrity chef show before she landed her own US documentary series. Fergie, who was dubbed the ‘Duchess of Pork’ during her marriage to Prince Andrew, revealed her plan to take part in a cooking programme during an e-mail exchange with pal Oprah Winfrey. She asked the chat show queen what she thought about the career move and Oprah quickly talked her out of it. The pair then came up with the idea for Master Class: Finding Sarah a six-part series about the Duchess which premieres on Oprah’s new TV network in the spring. Oprah, 56, opened up about her frank e-mail exchanges with Ferguson during an interview with a US magazine. The TV star said she kept in touch with the Duchess of York after interviewing her earlier this year. “She started e-mailing me and at one point asked what did I think of her doing a celebrity chef show,” the chat show host revealed. “I said ‘That’s not going to help you. How are you going to rehabilitate yourself on a celebrity chef show? You should be working on yourself’.” Mindful that Fergie might think she was being ‘used’, Oprah put forward the idea of working together on a docu-series about her life. In the TV show, the Duchess will open up about her troubles and explore her battles with weight, relationships and money with the help of experts such as Dr. Phil McGraw.
