Italian actress Monica Bellucci said she is “lucky” she got the chance to become a mum again in her 40s. The 46 year-old became a mum for the second time last year when she gave birth to her second daughter Leonie. Bellucci and husband Vincent Cassel are also parents to Deva, six. Speaking to Tatler about being an older mum, she said: “Look, I don’t know if it’s so intelligent to have children at this age. I don’t want to be an example to women, because I was lucky. “I know a lot of women who try later in life and it doesn’t work. I don’t think to be a woman you have to have children. I have many friends who don’t have children and are very satisfied.”

It looks like the two little tikes that brightened up Celine Dion’s life recently are already starting to develop their own personalities. This is what the singer had to say about her two sons: “They are very different. Nelson is Angelil, Eddy is Dion. Eddy is my smallest, very delicate and needs to be cuddled a lot. And Nelson is darker and very loud, in a good way. He’s my bear, my big boy.” Through these words Celine Dion seems to have given us a rather interesting description of her husband, Rene Angelil. But as long as the little ones are healthy, it makes no never mind.

Actress Halle Berry said she feels guilty at leaving her daughter Nahla to go to work. Berry, 44, gave birth to daughter Nahla in March 2008 and she took the first couple of years off work to look after her little girl. But after returning to work Berry admitted it is hard to leave her little girl. She said to ET: “For the first two and a half years I took off and I just wanted to be a mum now that I’m going back to work in a real way, it’s trying to not feel guilty about doing what I love to do and what I have to do.” Berry’s new movie, Frankie and Alice, will open in cinemas in December in LA.

Extra host Mario Lopez said he’s still shocked about becoming a dad to baby daughter Gia. Lopez, 37, and fiance Courtney Mazza welcomed the little girl last month on September 11 and he admitted he’s still getting used to having the new addition. He said to OK! magazine: “I’m still in that shocked, euphoric stage. Finding out the sex of the baby was the best surprise. I did a big betting pool and everyone was excited. “I thought we were having a girl, and Courtney thought it was a boy.” Asked if he has any worries about becoming a dad, he said: “I come from a big, loud Mexican Catholic family. My sister also has three kids, so I’m used to a bunch of babies [being] around.”

Life As We Know It star Katherine Heigl was forced to change her adopted daughter’s nappy in a cramped airplane toilet. The 31-year-old actress is now committed to potty training after daughter Naleigh left all the plane’s passengers feeling nauseous with the smell from her nappy. Katherine told WENN: “This is grown-up kind of poo, I’m in this airplane and they didn’t have these fold down tables to change her on; it’s just a tiny little bathroom. “I couldn’t put her on the floor, I had to jam her head in the corner and lay her across the toilet and kneel below her and it was brutal – I was like, ‘What did you eat?’” She added: “I had to walk back to get her because she was sitting with the nanny and trying to sleep and that whole plane smelled really bad. “I had to wake her up because it was just really mean to all the people around her, now I’m so committed to potty training.”

Life As We Know It star Katherine Heigl has said her daughter Naleigh got attached to her husband before her. Heigl, 31, adopted the little girl, now 20 months, from Korea last year with her husband Josh Kelley. She said to InStyle magazine: “The first thing she said was: ‘Dada.’ And then she’d call everybody else she loved ‘Dada’. She actually attached to Josh much faster.” Talking about bonding with her baby daughter, she said: “I had a lot of complicated emotions about it because I chose to go back to work. “I love what I do and – this isn’t just making excuses – if I weren’t fulfilling this thing in me to perform, to live out my passion, I don’t know that I would be the mom I need to be.”

Actress Mira Sorvino says she is a very protective mother and would do anything to stop her tots getting in harm’s way. “I would die for my children. I would kill for my children if someone were trying to hurt them,” the 42-year-old said. “I have become a very fierce mama bear, and I’d lay down my life in a heartbeat if it could save theirs.” The Oscar winner and husband Christopher Backus are parents to daughter Mattea, 5, and sons Johnny, 4, and Holden, 15 months. Being a mum is Sorvino’s favourite role, she says, although balancing family and her career sometimes leaves her feeling exhausted. Next up for the actress is her new film Like Dandelion Dust, which deals with issues very close to her heart – “the universality of the love of children”, she told People. “This is may be the one movie I’ve done that has an ability to touch everybody and I’m as proud of it as anything I’ve done so far.”

Actress Julia Roberts says being a housewife fills her with ‘absolute joy’ and she doesn’t mind not having any time for herself.

The 42-year-old is mum to three young kids – twins Hazel and Phinn, five, and three-year-old son Henry.

She told UK newspaper the Daily Mirror: “My life at home gives me absolute joy.

“There are some days when as soon as you’ve finished cooking breakfast and cleaning up the kitchen it’s time to start lunch, and by the time you’ve done that you’re doing dinner and thinking: ‘There has to be a menu we can order from’.

“But then there are some days when it’s just so creative and so much fun and my kids will help me.”

Hollywood actress Catherine Zeta-Jones has said she wants to prove that ’40-year-olds can do it just as well’ as women in their twenties.

The 40-year-old star said she is playing different roles as she is getting older.

She said: “It’s a natural progression… I’m going to play more mums than sex symbols. A lot of people talk about how hard it is to find good roles for older women but I, frankly, haven’t found that.

“I’ve actually seen an influx of interesting and compelling roles that makes me confident that the over-40 myth in Hollywood is just that.

“I’m out to prove 40-year-olds can do it just as well as 20-somethings ever did. I’m not going out to pasture. I’m going after the juicy roles and I intend to prove older women have just as much strength in Hollywood as young women and men.”
