Kris Jenner launches new fashion range on QVC

Keeping Up with the Kardashians star Kris Jenner is launching an affordable fashion range for older women on home shopping channel QVC. The Kardashian mum is set to release her own line for QVC, the Kris Jenner Kollection, on September 8. The 55-year-old told WWD.com: “I’ve wanted to do a collection my entire life. I love the pieces that I wear, and they’re very successful for me – for my lifestyle.” Kris, who has daughters Kourtney, 32, Kim, 30, Khloe, 27, Kendall, 15, Kylie, 13, and 24-year-old son Rob, wants to concentrate on ‘looking good’ when she goes out. She added: “I spent the first half of my life being a mum, having six kids, so now I like to look good, and I’ve learned a lot in my 50-some-odd years of trial and error. “This is a culmination of everything that I love that is easy, with a few pieces thrown in for night and cocktail because every girl needs something to go out in. “When something’s well planned out, then it makes it happier when I begin my day, because I know exactly what to wear.”

Actress Freida Pinto has revealed that she loves Chanel because they believed in her from the beginning, before she was famous. The 26-year-old Slumdog Millionaire star said the fashion house was the only company to loan her clothes for red carpet events when she was starting her acting career. Freida, who is currently promoting her new movie Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, told British InStyle magazine: “I tell you why I like Chanel so much; when I started off, no one wanted to give me clothes to wear. Absolutely no one. All the labels said, ‘Who is she?’ “Modelling was not completely satisfying. But Chanel believed in me from the very beginning. “For the very first red carpet I did at the Toronto Film Festival in 2008, they dressed me up in their very current season collection. It’s a massive brand, why would they invest in someone who is nobody?” Pinto, who is currently dating actor Dev Patel, also admitted she is a big fan of high street retailer Topshop. She added: “Shopping at Topshop is one of my favourite things. I get a discount. I get 40 per cent – that’s good right?”

Hollywood star Demi Moore is ‘delighted’ to become the face of Ann Taylor’s new advertising campaign. The 48-year-old shot an advertising campaign for the brand’s forthcoming campaign at the rooftop Rockefeller Centre Gardens in New York and says she is very happy to be involved with the fashion powerhouse. Demi, who is married to actor Ashton Kutcher, said in a statement: “I am delighted to collaborate with Ann Taylor. “It is the quintessential American brand for modern working women, and is a company of women, for women. They really understand what women need today to be confident and successful.” Actress Katie Holmes, 32, previously appeared in the brand’s spring advert campaign.

Kate Moss took time out from being a rock star wife to go shopping at Australia’s Splendour in the Grass festival. Kate walked out from the festival’s VIP area after she had finished watching husband Jamie Hince’s Friday afternoon set with his band, The Kills. (July 29) She spent 20 minutes at the hippy-themed teepee-based store, trying on dresses and jewellery before returning backstage. Kate was joined by Jamie who stood outside the shop with several of his mates as she shopped. The supermodel, along with new Aussie girl pal Kylie Speer, a TV presenter, were earlier spotted checking out the festival’s day spa. Kate, Jamie and Jamie’s bandmate Alison Mosshart are staying at the festival in Woodford, Queensland, on Friday night, so they can watch US rapper Kanye West. They were meant to leave to spend the night in Brisbane but decided to stay and enjoy the event. On Saturday they head to Japan to play the Fuji Rock Festival before heading to the US for more tour dates.

Kate Middleton’s Reiss dress is going for more than 10 times its shop price on eBay. The 29 year-old wore the beige Shola dress from Reiss to meet US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle. The outfit has now been posted on the eBay auction site and some are listing the dress for up to £1,000. The dress, which originally cost £175, sold out in stores as soon as Middleton wore it. Nick Ede, a fashion expert, said: “Usually with a celebrity or a royal, people can’t look like them because the cost is too prohibitive. “Kate loves her High Street pieces and as she’s so classic and elegant it’s a look that works well on most women.”

Reality TV star Olivia Palermo is to launch her own style blog giving fashion advice. The 25-year-old, who used to star in the MTV show The City, has revealed to Women’s Wear Daily that she is launching the new blog later this year. Palermo revealed last year in an interview with Us Weekly that she had a secret project in the pipeline. She said: “It’s been a wonderful time for me because I’ve been able to focus on a lot of other projects that I didn’t have time for. “Hopefully I’ll be releasing a few things in the spring.”

Eva Mendes to sing in new perfume advert

Eva Mendes is set to showcase her vocal abilities in a new fragrance advert. The 37-year-old actress has been chosen to replace Naomi Watts as the face of Angel by Thierry Mugler, and revealed that she will sing in the ads which are set to hit the screen this autumn. “It was my idea,” she told Us Weekly. “They presented me with the song Windmills Of Your Mind, and they wanted to modernise it so I said, ‘Well, this happens to be one of my favourite songs, I’ll sing it.’ It fits the commercial so beautifully.”?? And she was more than prepared for the temporary career change. “I always take random classes that will help kind of keep my instrument in good working condition,” she explained. “So I’ll take vocal lessons or some dance classes, so I always think that you have to be prepared for certain opportunities that are going to come your way.”

Dior fires John Galliano

British fashion designer John Galliano has been sacked by fashion house Dior after allegedly making anti-Semitic comments. Dior has decided to sack the star after seeing a video that allegedly shows the 50 year-old making abusive remarks in a Paris bar. Dior’s chief executive Sidney Toledano said: “I very firmly condemn what was said by John Galliano.” Natalie Portman, 29, who is the face of Miss Dior Cherie perfume, said she was “deeply shocked and disgusted” by the film, in which Galliano allegedly tells two women that he “loves Hitler” and that their parents “should have been gassed”. A lawyer for Galliano said he denied all the allegations.
