Zac Efron is seen here posing with his Breakthrough Performer of the Year Award — at the ShoWest awards ceremony at the Paris Las Vegas on Thursday (April 2) in Las Vegas, Nevada. Congrats Zac.
While at the event, he explained to EW why he turned down the role of Ren McCormack in Footloose saying:
“I’m sure Footloose would have been a huge challenge but the actors that I love and the actors that work really hard in this industry are always shaking things up, trying new genres, acquiring new skill sets. That’s what’s always going to appeal to me: the unknown.”
Here’s a great little clip of Zac when he made a guest appearance on Ellen Degeneres’s show about emulating her hairstyle:
Zac Efron will make an appearance with comedian Russell Brand on Rove this Sunday, March 15. He’ll be premiering ‘17 Again’ in Melbourne on Monday evening (March 16).
Zac Efron was seen Friday night (March 13) at the Grand Finals of the National Basketball League at the Hisense Arena in Melbourne, Australia.
A fan who was there told celebrity blogger Just Jared:
“He was hooded and trying to keep a low profile until they showed him on the big screen. At half time, fans swarmed on his box but security was evident. He talked to a few young fans and left before full time where the South Dragons defeated the Melbourne Tigers.”
Zac and girlfriend Vanessa survived a 12 hour flight and were happy to receive a warm welcome from their fans at Narita International Airport today in Narita, Chiba, Japan.
The on-screen and off-screen couple will be touring Japan to promote their latest movie High School Musical 3: Senior Year, which opens on February 7 in Japan.
Apparently a team of over 30 police officers and security guards were used to set up a perimeter as the two of them and Zac’s manager made their way through the airport.
“I’ve never seen anything like it,” said a onlooker. “Their fans were screaming and some were crying because they were so happy to see them.”
Zac Efron supplied his singing talents to Adult Swim’s ‘Robot Chicken’ for an episode, in a parody of Billy Joel’s ‘Piano Man.’
Warning Strong Adult Content
Seth Green && Matthew Senreich’s Emmy Award Winning stop motion animated series on Cartoon Network’s late night Adult Swim that airs in the U.S. I find it obnoxiously rude, crass, but others I know find it hilarious.
They’ve parodied Hannah Montana, and now they’ve gone after Billy Joel? It seems HSM’s goody-two-shoes is saying ciao to his ’squeaky-clean’ image.
Zac and Vanessa wowed their fans into a frenzy at a press conference in Mexico City last Thursday for their latest movie-musical High School Musical 3: Senior Year.
Vanessa wore a gorgeous purple slip dress from Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent. It’ll be available in stores next month if any of you are interested!
Zac was recently asked what was the highlight of his entire HSM experience was and his reply to CosmoGirl was:
“I think that one of the moments that we all look back on as pretty amazing was in the first movie, when we filmed “We’re All in This Together.” We were all in our elements in that moment. It was the time of our lives and that was the beginning of it all. Another standout moment for the whole cast — I know it was for me — was the finale of the third movie, the very last thing we shot. It was very surreal to look at how far we had come.”
Vanessa Hudgens was wearing a cute little black dress and shoes at the 2008 Teen Vogue Young Hollywood Party held on the rooftop of the L.A. County Museum of Art on Thursday.
She was Teen Vogue’s cover girl for their September 2008 issue. With the release of High School Musical 3 and her dance album “Identified” her career is really taking off.
She has said that making High School Musical was very much like high school even though she traded her real educational experience to be part of Disney’s most famous class of kids:
“It’s sad,” she says. “This is our last time doing a movie together, and we love each other so much.” “We really grew up together. We can be free when we’re around one another, and the amount of fun we have is ridiculous.”

Looks like Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens have become quite close lately. There have been seen hanging out together and going to the gym for the past two days in a row. They are both presenting at the American Music Awards this Sunday, so I guess they are trying to buff up before their performances.
Us Magazine is reporting that Vanessa Hudgens will be returning for High School Musical 3. A source was quoted saying that she has been “locked in” for the project and will receive a “substantial increase” in pay. Apparently having naked pictures of her surface on the internet did not seem to have negatively impacted her at all.
There was a time when having scandalous pictures made public would have derailed a career. It makes me wonder if some of these young girls willingly pose for such pictures just to give themselves a career boost.
