Model Kate Moss has said she ’still can’t quite believe’ she’s made it in the fashion industry.
The 36-year-old star is one of Britain’s most well-known and successful models and said she didn’t think it would happen.
Asked if she always dreamt about being a model, she said: “I still can’t quite believe it, even now. I still think I’m blagging it a bit, but nobody’s cottoned on yet!”
Moss added that she had always dreamed of being a model but wasn’t sure if it was the career for her.
She said: “I was only 14, so I hadn’t got around to thinking about it.
“I had this lovely geography teacher, and I asked her whether she thought I should give modelling a try, and she said: ‘Kate, just give it a go. If it doesn’t work out, you can always go to college.’”
Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell have taken to the water to learn synchronised swimming.
Moss was said to have turned Campbell onto the sport and to have kept up practice for her underwater swim ballet moves in Thailand, where she has been holidaying.
The moves include the egg-beater, which requires a scissor-like action with the legs, and the scull thrust, which defies description.
An observer at Moss’s £3,000-a-night villa in Phuket said: “Kate has spent five days’ solid preparing for this synchronised swimming display. Underwater music was piped through her hotel pool, allowing her to practise her moves and refine the art of water ballet. Sporting a nose clip and floral swimming cap – worn ironically – she had a hotel worker download an online handbook so she could learn all the moves.”
The source continued:”Kate has perfected all the basic sculling moves and twirls, plus the eggbeater – basically treading water – but has really struggled with the crane, which requires a great deal of core strength.”
Moss invited Campbell and others to her villa to show off her movies. “The only blip in the evening was when a rather tipsy Kate tried to jump back in the pool at midnight for an impromptu solo performance. Boyfriend Jamie Hince had to physically hold her back. But Kate reckons it’s been amazing for her bum and tum, and has really firmed her up,” said the source.
Model Kate Moss is reportedly packing her bags and leaving the UK to live in France.
The 35-year-old is said to have put down a deposit on a £20million apartment in Paris and is buying the new pad for her seven-year-old daughter Lila and boyfriend Jamie Hince.
The apartment is in an area called the Golden Triangle and is near to Chanel’s flagship store and features six bedrooms and views of the Eiffel Tower.
A source said: “Kate has told model agency bosses she wants to be at the heart of the fashion world. She loves Paris and always stays at the Ritz whenever she’s in town.
“After 34 years in London, Kate feels it’s time for a break – and cannot wait to immerse herself in the Parisian way of life. She found a gorgeous penthouse apartment in the most fashionable part of town – and immediately put an offer in, and paid the requisite deposit to hold it.
“The plan is for her and Lila to move in the spring. Initially, it will be used as a weekend getaway but she then has the option to move there full-time. Jamie has also been invited but will keep his place in the UK.
“Similarly, Kate will of course keep a base in London, in addition to her Cotswolds home – she doesn’t want to lose touch with her roots, or her mates from home.

Model Kate Moss has reportedly been teaching her daughter Lila and pal Sadie Frost’s daughter Iris how to be models.
It is claimed the 35-year-old star threw a model-themed birthday party for Sadie’s daughter Iris’s eighth birthday and showed the girls, including her own daughter Lila, seven, how to model.
A source said: “Kate had been teaching Iris and Lila Grace how to model and how to walk the catwalk properly in preparation for the party.
“They could hardly have a better teacher. All of the girls at the bash wanted to be Kate. She brought along lots of clothes for them and the girls had their hair and make-up done especially.
“Kate also presided over all of the accessories to make them look as catwalk-ready as possible.
“She was teaching them how to master her famous hip swagger and her ‘I don’t care look’. It went down so well that Iris and Lila Grace now both want to be models like Kate.”
Model Kate Moss has become a part of the society that protects UK musicians and songwriters’ rights after her boyfriend Jamie Hince has reportedly mellowed to the idea of letting Kate sing in his band The Kills.
A source said: “He’s so used to hearing Kate sing at home and in karaoke and he’s tempted to give it a go. She makes no secret of wanting to record more stuff before it’s too late for her.”
The 35-year-old, who has previously co-written several songs with her ex Pete Doherty, has never before claimed money for her work, but now the society will be also be able to help her with this.
A Performing Rights Society spokesperson has said that Kate joining the society was “a smart move”.
She said: “Kate has co-written some songs with Pete Doherty and she will now be able to collect her share of royalties.
“For any future songs she writes and which are played on radio, TV or live – we will also collect the royalties due.”
She added: “Both Peter Doherty and Jamie Hince are members. We are glad to welcome Kate too.”
The model is apparently very hung up on becoming a musician… probably even more now that her husband has instituted his recent boycott on her singing. So, in light of these circumstances Kate Moss is apparently begging Lily Allen to allow her to sing on her upcoming album. A source stated the following about Kate Moss’ wishes: “Kate is obsessed with becoming a rock star. She’s desperate to persuade Lily to include her on a new album. Lily adores Kate and it seems like she’d do anything she suggests. They say they’re like sisters as they’ve got so much in common.” In that case, it seems like we’re looking at a possible Lily Allen/Kate Moss duet here. Hopefully, this move will not damage Lily Allen’s career… too much.
