The singer hasn’t really had that specific behavior to actually be labeled a diva, but during VH1’s recent special “VH1 Divas Salute the Troops” Katy Perry apparently had to shape-up or ship out. Fortunately, she gave it all her best and nobody was disappointed since she both opened and closed the show. This is what Katy Perry said about the experience: “I really had to live up to the definition of a ‘diva’ in all senses of the word,. So, I had to be very difficult today, and late.” Well, Katy Perry can probably never measure up to the great Mariah Carey in this respect, but she probably enjoyed having the opportunity of trying to.
Actually, the one who has the worst to suffer from all of this is Katy Perry’s new husband, Russell Brand, who after being forced to endure a one-month sex-ban before the wedding now has to muster up even more patience because Katy Perry was bitten by a spider shortly after arriving at a resort in the Maldives. The bite left the singer with a terrible rash so it’s going to be a bit more waiting for Russell Brand and Katy Perry until they can officially consummate their marriage. It is a shame that they got off to such a rocky start, but worse things could’ve happened… and 2012 is not yet upon us, so there is still time.
Sources have confirmed that Katy Perry, Rihanna and Christina Aguilera will soon be taking to the X Factor stage to perform during the upcoming live shows. Katy will be performing her new single ‘Firework’ this weekend, alongside Diana Vickers who will perform ‘My Wicked Heart’. The following week, Rihanna is expected to perform ‘Only Girl (In the World), alongside Cheryl Cole with ‘Promise This’. Christina doesn’t have a performance date set yet but I think it will likely end up some time around the premiere of her movie ‘Burlesque’. I hope she sings something off the soundtrack because anything from ‘Bionic’ will just be disappointing.
Katy Perry is already ruling the radio airwaves and soon enough, the singer may rule TV too. Katy is reportedly in talks with ITV2 for various new TV projects. A company source said “Katy is a target for us currently. She’s brilliant, a bulls eye person. We are talking to her management about various shows.” I would definitely tune in to watch a show featuring the pop star, especially if her very funny fiancé, comedian Russell Brand would occasionally stop by. I bet they would come up with something really good to show on TV and feature all of Katy’s great talents.
Katy Perry recently had an interview with People magazine where she spoke a little bit about planning her wedding to fiancé Russell Brand. The 25-year old pop singer said “Most people have breakdowns just over weddings. I’m planning mine AND my tour.” It’s a good thing that she hasn’t broken down yet. Katy is crazy enough as it is, can you imagine how crazy she can get if she does have a breakdown? And it must not be that hard to plan her wedding when she has pals like Rihanna to count on. As previously reported, the Barbadian R&B singer is planning Katy’s bachelorette party.

The loved-up couple got engaged in India over the New Year, and Perry’s pal Rihanna recently revealed they are thinking about India.
However, it has now been claimed that the pair are planning to marry in Japan later this year.
A source said to UK newspaper Daily Mirror: “Russ and Katy are marrying at the end of the year, almost a year to the day he proposed.
“They originally planned to wed in India, in an intimate ceremony before close friends and family within the grounds of the Taj Rambagh Palace hotel, where Russell popped the question.
“They have a holding reservation, but nothing is set in stone as yet. The pair of them want to keep people guessing about the ceremony and on their toes – even their celebrity pals.
“While he was in LA, Russell told a couple of people that they were also considering Tokyo as a venue. It is a buzzy, vibrant city and somewhere completely different and unique.
“Katy kept jokingly hitting Russell, telling him to keep his big mouth shut. But she really likes the idea of wearing some kind of Geisha-inspired bridal dress, so Tokyo is a real possibility.”
A wise decision… or maybe not, but hey, who’s to judge, eh? It seems Katy Perry was scheduled to appear on “Chris Moyles’ Quiz Night” but she chose to spend the evening with Russell Brand. A source said the following about the occurrence: “Chris got a call from Russell late at night before telling him Katy wouldn’t be appearing as they wanted to spend the evening together. Chris was a bit annoyed but thinks Katy is hot as well – and if she was his girlfriend he would probably do the same!” It’s a good thing Chris Moyles was so understanding… wouldn’t want to turn any unfriendly heads around.
Russell Brand has found love with Katy Perry and is ready to get serious, says a UK report. Brand has traded his natural habitat of North London for the bright lights of Hollywood and the dazzle of Perry’s whirligig lifestyle as a pop princess who never has a dull moment. What’s more, he has been hitting the gym, even if photos show him looking like a fish out of water in knee-high socks. He’s even preparing to meet Perry’s evangelical Christian parents. Brand is a changed man, the report claims. He said: “I am feeling broody. I’ve grown weary of the carousel. Regardless of what happens in my current situation, I am unlikely to be satisfied with the calamitous promiscuity of the preceding five or six years.” He was referring to a wild, partying lifestyle and, if reports from his previous flames are to be believed, a torrid love life.

Katy Perry sat down for an interview and talked about her personal life in the new issue of Blender magazine, and what she had to say about her parents was rather interesting. Her parents who today are ministers have a very colourful past. Her dad used to be a druggie:

“My dad would have died from one tab of Strawberry Fields (LSD) too many if he hadn’t found God.”
Her mom, Mary Hudson, had one date with guitar legend Jimi Hendrix after having left home to “travel the world.” She ended up in Spain in a club one night and that is when Hendrix approached her. Katy says:
“He just came up to her in a club and picked her out.”
Her mother who is also an evangelical Christian preacher does not like her hit song I Kissed a Girl, as she feels it promotes “sin.”
Wonder if she is just rebelling or if it’s because she comes from former wild child parents?
