Sienna Miller ‘feels terrible for accusing family over story leaks’
Sienna Miller has admitted that she ‘feels terrible’ about having accused her friends and family of leaking stories to the press when all the time her phone was being hacked. The 29-year-old actress told the Leveson Inquiry into press ethics that at the time, she could think of no other way how certain stories could have made it to the British tabloids. According to The Sun, she said, “It was baffling how certain pieces of information kept coming out and the first initial steps I took were to change my mobile number. And then I changed it again and again, and I ended up changing it three times in three months. “Naturally, having changed my number and being pretty convinced that it couldn’t be as a result of hacking, I accused my friends and family of selling stories and they accused each other as well. “I feel terrible that I would even consider accusing people of betraying me. But it just seemed so entirely paranoid to assume your house is being bugged or you’re being listened to.” She received £100,000 from the News of the World earlier this year after taking action against the hacking.

Ellen Pompeo wants to return to Grey’s Anatomy
Actress Ellen Pompeo said she would like to return to hit US TV show Grey’s Anatomy. The 41-year-old star is best known for her role as Meredith Grey on the ABC drama. Despite admitting last year that she would finish her contract then leave the show, Pompeo said she might return. She said to TV Guide magazine: “I was invited for eight years – that was my contract – and no one has asked me for a day more. “I know [creator] Shonda Rhimes has said the show will continue, but I wouldn’t presume that they want to continue with me. You don’t get dressed for the party if you don’t have an invitation.” Asked if she would return if asked, she added: “I would love the opportunity to discuss it. I would never turn up my nose at Grey’s. “As long as the stories are honest and truthful, and Patrick [Dempsey] and I feel there is material for us to be passionate about, it still beats a 9-to-5 job any day. “If I hear from the fans that they want us to keep going, then I would continue because we owe them everything.”

Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie reportedly spent £1,300 in 15 minutes during a shopping spree yesterday in London with her two eldest daughters, Zahara and Shiloh. The 36-year-old and her six children are currently living in Richmond in the British capital as her partner Brad Pitt, 47, films his latest flick World War Z, and Angie headed out to enjoy some of the city’s shops. Jolie, Zahara, six, and Shiloh, five, went to King’s Road in Chelsea where The Tourist star splashed out on clothes in French Connection. A customer told British newspaper the Daily Mail: “She was really friendly and humble. She signed an autograph for some young girls in the shop, and wouldn’t let any of the staff help her to the car with her bags, joking that she ‘had people to do that’ for her. “She seemed happy to talk to people and sign autographs for them. I was in the store at the same time and couldn’t believe it when I saw she’d managed to spend £1,300 in such a short time. Still, she earns such a lot of money, so why not?”

Music mogul Simon Cowell has reportedly given Leona Lewis a £100,000 budget to perform her latest single, Collide, on the first episode of his new British TV show, Red or Black. The 51-year-old wants to get the gameshow off to a flying start and has splashed out the cash to enable Lewis, 26, to give a stunning performance. A source told British newspaper the Daily Mirror: “Leona has been given a £100k budget for the production. “She has hired Kylie Minogue’s best friend, William Baker, to design for her and her dancers, and the set backdrop will be spectacular. “It will be her first major public performance of Collide and she is incredibly excited.”

David Tennant pulls out of West End show
Former Doctor Who star David Tennant has been forced to pull out of a West End production of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing this week after losing his voice, according to reports. The 40-year-old British actor missed two shows on Monday and Tuesday after falling ill. Understudy Alex Beckett has been playing Benedick opposite Catherine Tate’s Beatrice in Tennant’s absence. The play at London’s Wyndham’s Theatre is due to end this Saturday.

But the fact I’m enjoying it still is even more exciting.” She added: “It’s nice. Most people talk about Saved By The Bell and 90210, but when fans start talking to me about another project, that’s when I know it’s really connecting. “And that’s starting to happen with White Collar, which is the most exciting.”

Prince Charles is reportedly worried he is being overshadowed by the popularity of Prince William and Kate. The next-in-line to the throne apparently feels that his son’s recent tour of Canada with his new wife turned into one-long photo opportunity, unlike his earlier visit with wife Camilla, which attracted much smaller crowds. Royal author Phil Dampier told The Mirror: “Charles felt overshadowed by Diana and now it seems he feels overshadowed by their son. Some people may think he is jealous. I have always felt that as soon as William got married, Charles would feel sidelined. From that moment people would be less interested in what he has to say on issues such as the environment and architecture if, on the same day, Kate is wearing a new dress. When Charles and Camilla visited Canada two years ago they were greeted by relatively small crowds. They are in their 60s and are not what you would call glamorous. Charles is well respected in Canada but he does not have the X-factor. With the Queen’s headline-grabbing Irish tour too, Charles feels his work could get overlooked.” But Wills and Kate now plan to keep a low profile ahead of the Queen’s diamond jubilee next year.
