Kate Hudson has held a baby shower for her nearest and dearest in Malibu. Around 80 guests gathered for the bash at a private house on Sunday afternoon, including Hudson’s stylist Rachel Zoe, and her friends Courteney Cox, Jessica Capshaw and Jennifer Meyer Maguire. The 32-year-old actress and her fiancé Matt Bellamy have decided against finding out the sex of the baby, which is due in July, so well-wishers were sure to bring only ‘gender neutral’ gifts, according to People magazine. “She looked amazing and kept giggling while mingling with friends, nibbling on food and playing games,” said an insider. “She seemed to have the best time.” The proud parents to be also appeared at the Chanel hosted benefit in Malibu for the Natural Resources Defense Council’s Ocean Initiative, where an onlooker said, “Kate was just glowing and looked amazing. She and Matt stayed close all night and they seemed very happy together.”

The singer is apparently taking the next step in her marriage with Ty Murray considering that she recently got pregnant. Of course Jewel wasn’t at all shy about sharing the big news of her pregnancy: “I took a pregnancy test and it was positive! It was so hard to keep it a secret. I was worried I’d start throwing up on set and everyone would be like, ‘Oh, she’s pregnant.’ I’m trying to be in the moment and really enjoy my pregnancy. I feel really lucky.” Well it’s nice to see that Jewel is so optimistic about her pregnancy… we’ll see how she feels about it after a couple of months.

Although the rumor has been around for as long as everyone was still speculating on her pregnancy, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have officially announced that they will be having twins. The couple’s use of plural pronouns gave it away when either of them talked about their unborn baby and they finally admitted it. While handing out toys at a Build-a-Bear Workshop which benefitted Toys for Tots Foundation, Nick confirmed the news that his pop singer wife was expecting twins. I wonder if it’s both girls, both boys or one of each. Anyway, congratulations to the happy couple! I can’t wait until the babies arrive.

Fashion designer Stella McCartney and husband Alasdhair Willis have welcomed their fourth child – a baby girl. Stella’s representative confirmed to People.com that she had daughter Reiley on Tuesday November 23 in London. The little girl will have lots of siblings as the pair are already parents to son Miller Alasdhair James, five, son Beckett Robert Lee, two and daughter Bailey Linda Olwyn, three. The 39-year-old daughter of Beatles legend Paul McCartney plans to get back to work as soon as possible. It is said that she is planning on taking a short maternity leave and then will get straight back to it to work on her new collection.

Actress Penelope Cruz is four-and-a-half months pregnant. The Pirates of the Caribbean star was rumoured to be expecting a child when she was recently pictured with a possible bump. Now it has been revealed that Spanish film stars Cruz and Javier Bardem are expecting their first child. Reps for both Bardem, 41, and Cruz, 36, said: “Penelope is four-and-a-half months pregnant.”

However, it has been announced that the star and actor Javier Bardem, 41, recently got married in a private ceremony in the Bahamas.

Cruz’s rep told Eonline.com that the couple are not going to be welcoming a child into the world.

The 36 year-old is currently shooting Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

A source said: “It’s not exactly the kind of movie you want to be doing if you’re pregnant.”

Dannii Minogue will be appearing in September, two months after she will have given birth and Cheryl Cole, Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh will be there too. But after that it’s bye-bye work, as Dannii Minogue says: “After baby’s born, I’ll absolutely switch off. You have to. I just want to have the baby, shut the door, and take some time off work. That’s it.” Apparently she will be replaced by Melanie B and two other celebrities. Well, it sure seems like she’s a hard piece to find if they have to get three others to take her place.

Up In The Air star Vera Farmiga has confirmed reports that she is expecting her second child.

The 36-year-old actress and her husband, Renn Hawkey, will become parents again later this year after confirming the news.

Speaking at the recent MET Costume Gala, she said to USA Today: “I’m past the first trimester, so I’m not feeling sick any more.”

Reports first started last month that the star is due in October, and it was claimed she dropped out of a new movie after learning that she is expecting again.

The couple are also parents to one-year-old son, Fynn.

Up in the Air star Vera Farmiga is reportedly expecting her second child, according to US reports.

The 36-year-old actress, who appeared opposite George Clooney in the flick, is set to become a mum for the second time when she gives birth to the baby later this year.

Farmiga and hubby Renn Hawkey already have a one-year-old son, Finn, and they live together in New York.

The actress was set to star alongside Gerard Butler in the new movie Machine Gun Preacher but had to drop out after finding out she was pregnant.

A source said to In Touch: “She is three months’ pregnant and due in October.

“The role would have meant travelling to Africa this summer, but because her baby is due in the fall, she would have been too far along to make the trip.”

Jessica Capshaw, a step-daughter of Steven Spielberg, is expecting her second child.

People reports the Grey’s Anatomy star, 31, and her husband Christopher Gavigan will become parents again later this year.

Capshaw’s representative said: “They are thrilled.”

Capshaw is the daughter of Kate Capshaw, who is married to veteran movie director Spielberg. She has a 2½-year-old son, Luke. Gavigan is chief executive of Healthy Child, Healthy World, a non-profit organisation.

Capshaw plays Dr Arizona Robbins in the medical drama set at the fictitious Seattle Grace.
