Mel C: ‘Rihanna is inappropriately sexual’
Mel C has blasted Rihanna for being ‘inappropriately sexual’ in front of her young fans. The 37-year-old former Spice Girl and mother-of-one said that although she is a huge fan of the star, she worries about the message that her outfits send out to children. She told The Mirror, “People have to take some responsibility because we’ve got to a point where over-sexualisation of young children has gone too far. “I think music is a big part of that. Women in music, very successful women, are extremely sexual and they have young fans. It is inappropriate. “Rihanna has responsibility and although culture’s always changing, it’s changed too much. It needs to be dealt with. It’s reached saturation point. We owe it to our kids to protect them. “Rihanna’s free to do as she pleases, of course, but I think her take on the criticism she’s had is interesting. “I love Rihanna, I think she’s a f****** brilliant artist, with great songs, a great record and she looks fantastic… but she’s not a mum. Maybe if she becomes one she’ll feel different. I hope so anyway.”

Susan Boyle Wants to Collaborate with Rihanna
Susan Boyle has declared that one of her dream duets would be with Rihanna. The Barbadian R&B singer might want to consider that offer considering that the YouTube sensation killed her in the album charts recently. Anyway, when Susan was asked about taking her music in another direction, she said “There are certain types of music that you’re good at and certain types that you’re not. I mean, would I be good at R&B? I suppose you never know. Maybe me and Rihanna could get together.” With the right song and the right producer, I definitely think they could work something out.

Rihanna has released the sequel to ‘Love the Way You Lie’, which is simply named ‘Love the Way You Lie Part 2’. The song comes off of her upcoming album ‘Loud’. While the sequel still features an appearance from rapper Eminem, I like part 1 better because it seems like this was really just an afterthought. The same catchy chorus is still there but the rest of the song lacks the powerful and compelling energy that part 1 had. But it was nice to hear the girl’s side of the song as well. Maybe if Eminem had a bigger part in the song, it would have been better.

Cheryl Cole’s new single ‘Promise This’ has not only hit the number one spot on the UK charts but is also the country’s fastest selling non-charity single in 2010. The pop singer’s track, which sold over 157,000 copies in just this past week bet out Barbadian R&B babe Rihanna’s ‘Only Girl (In the World)’. You have to admit, that’s pretty impressive, not to mention very well deserved. Congratulations to Cheryl for achieving such success. I think it’s pretty obvious that Cheryl is one Girls Aloud member who can still gain massive success as a solo artist. Take that Nadine Coyle!

Rihanna Talks Chris Brown
Rihanna recently opened up to Marie Claire magazine about a lot of topics in their upcoming issue but one thing I didn’t expect to hear about was Chris Brown. The wounds may have healed physically but mentally, the Barbadian R&B singer is still somewhat dealing. When asked about that fateful assault, Rihanna admits that it’s still a painful memory but one that might have been needed in her life. She explains “God has a crazy way of working, and sometimes when stuff happens you feel like, ‘What did I do to deserve this?’ Why was it backfiring on me?’ But I needed that wake-up call in my life. I needed a turning point, and that’s what God was giving to me.” I’m proud of her for seeing the good in something so ugly.
