Britain’s Next Top Model host Elle Macpherson says it’s ‘tough love’ on the new show and she has been giving out ‘brutal’ advice.
Elle, who has long been nicknamed The Body, recently debuted as the new host of the hit talent show and says she will be tough on the girls as they compete for the top prize.
She said: “I’m very direct with the advice and feedback I give them, which I think they can sometimes feel is quite brutal – but I have a responsibility to them. It’s tough love.
“I don’t want to let them go out in the industry having not painted a real picture as to how fierce the real competition is.”
Supermodel Elle Macpherson has hit out at her Britain’s Next Top Model co-star Julien Macdonald after he claimed only skinny girls should be models.
Elle, 47, was enraged when the fashion designer claimed contestant Simone Clark, a size 10, was ‘plus-size’.
She said to UK newspaper The Sun: “We’ve got beautiful girls in all different shapes and sizes on the show. As far as I’m concerned, we have a great variety going on here.”
Macpherson has taken over the role of host of the show from Lisa Snowdon.
She added: “There’s too much emphasis on models’ sizes. As far as I’m concerned, I don’t have an issue with people’s bodies.”
Model Helena Christensen had to leave a new eco-friendly hotel in Rome because of the state of the toilets.
Christensen, 41, was the first guest at the new hotel, which has been built out of rubbish found on beaches across Europe as part of Corona’s Save The Beach Campaign.
The hotel doesn’t have chemical toilets or showers and has only a ripped sheet as curtains.
Christensen, an environmental activist herself, checked in to the Trash Hotel but couldn’t stay a full night.
She said to UK newspaper Daily Express: “I am not too squeamish but I couldn’t stomach a Portaloo when nature called. I was the first guest to check in.
“The bed was made from wood and bits of concrete, the walls covered with an exhaust, tyres, plastic bottles and other rubbish that people had left behind on beaches.
“There were only five rooms so it was very friendly. I am disgusted by the way people drop rubbish all over our beautiful beaches. But I bailed out in the early hours when I saw the toilet.”
The model added: “I hope I’ve made my point but I didn’t want to start training for festival toilets. I’d rather go behind a tree than in a Portaloo – they’re horrible.”
Christie Brinkley has shared her thoughts on men who do the dirty on their wives.
In an interview with Ladies’ Home Journal, the model describes as “heartbreaking” the marriage woes of actress Sandra Bullock, whose estranged husband Jesse James is accused of cheating on her more than once.
The 56-year-old mother of three also weighs in on former US presidential candidate John Edwards, who cheated on his cancer-stricken wife.
“It’s an epidemic of male narcissism gone wild,” she says. “That someone could cheat on any woman with cancer – or an Academy Award winner …”
Brinkley has had her own marriage troubles, which she discusses in the interview.
In 2008, she went through a bitter divorce from her fourth husband Peter Cook, who cheated on her with an 18-year-old.
She responds to a comment he supposedly made about her wedding dress, which she donated to a charity auction for Haiti earthquake victims.
According to the New York Daily News, Cook allegedly said: “Why would anyone want to buy a wedding dress from someone who has failed at marriage four times? I suggest that anyone who buys the dress and wants to have a happy marriage burn it immediately.”
Brinkley told her interviewer: “I think that quote is very revealing. This is somebody who just doesn’t understand trying to help other people. I don’t want to waste time feeding his narcissistic supply.”
Model Heidi Klum said she and her children "roll in and out like groupies" when husband Seal is on tour.
The 36-year-old star has four young children with the British singer and said they always join him on tour.
She said to Redbook magazine: "We roll in and we roll out like the groupies. The kids watch him perform every night and we have the best time.
"It also makes them understand better when he is on the road by himself and they ask where he is."
She added: "We try to go on adventures and outings: to the movies, the circus, Disneyland. It’s important for children to see what’s out there and learn that it’s fun to go."
Heidi Klum has explained why she and husband Seal decorate their bedroom with naked photos of themselves.
The supermodel appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday when she made the rude confession.
Klum said when she was getting a fitting at her home, a visitor saw the nude photos in Klum’s “private bedroom” and sold the story to the papers, “which is mean”.
“And that is how this whole thing started about our semi-nudey, artsy photos that we have,” Klum added.
Defending why the photos exist, Klum told the host: “They were not for anyone to see.
“It’s not like we’re showing them to everybody. They’re in our bedroom.”
Klum then asked DeGeneres: “Don’t you have beautiful photos of you and, you know, Portia?” to which the chat show queen said no.
Klum claims the photos are harmless and not kinky in any way. She said: “We’re not doing some naked voodoo dancing crazy business. It’s just photos!”
Angie Everhart has showed off her baby bump in a new ad campaign for Palmer’s Cocoa Butter.
The 40-year-old – who gave birth to son Kayden Bobby Everhart in July – filmed the TV ad when she was heavily pregnant.
Dressed in white and hugging her naked – and stretchmark-free – baby bump, the model-turned-actress looks at the camera and says: “Palmer’s works and I am the proof.
“As an actress and a model, I need my skin to look beautiful.”
Kayden is the first baby for Everhart, whose past lovers include actors Sylvester Stallone and Joe Pesci – both of whom she was briefly engaged to.
The actress has refused to identify her son’s father.
Supermodel Gisele Bundchen has hailed her newborn son Benjamin as a “little angel”.
The Brazilian stunner, who is breast-feeding after giving birth in December, says even her current lack of sleep is failing to dampen the joys of motherhood.
She told Brazil’s Folha de Sao Paulo newspaper: “I haven’t slept much. It is really tiring, but it’s such a special moment that I am enjoying it to the maximum. I have dedicated my days completely to him.”
Bundchen, 29, says that becoming a parent – with partner and NFL star Tom Brady – has already changed her as a person.
“To be a mother is a magical experience. The whole body is transformed by this,” she told the newspaper. “It really is the miracle of life. I am real
Model Claudia Schiffer showed off her growing baby bump as she did the school run.
The 39-year-old recently announced that she is five-and-a-half-months pregnant with her third child and gave a glimpse of her baby bump while taking her children to school in London.
Schiffer and husband Matthew Vaughn have two children already – Caspar, six, and Clementine, five.
Talking about the pregnancy, the couple recently said in a statement: “We are delighted with the news and can’t wait to add to our family.”
